Zhao Shanling
Zhao Shanling, rendered Zhao Shanjun in earlier chapters, is the Golden Frost Sect Dao Protector who recruits Li Fugui during the Reliance Sect's dissolution.
Biography
Dissolution of the Reliance Sect
Zhao arrives in the State of Zhao with Golden Frost experts searching for the Sublime Spirit Scripture and suitable recruits. He detects Li Fugui's unusual Spirit Teeth and immediately claims the youth for his sect, recognizing a rare constitution beneath Li Fugui's unimpressive presentation. (Chapter 41)
He also senses Demonic qi around Meng Hao and attempts to seize him for investigation. That opportunism places Zhao directly against Patriarch Reliance when the ancient patriarch intervenes. The attack wounds Zhao and knocks away his enormous golden sword. Unable to resist, he escapes through a spatial fissure while taking Li Fugui with him. (Chapters 42–43)
Blood Immortal Legacy expedition
Zhao later accompanies the Golden Frost delegation to the Blood Immortal Legacy zone, again armored and carrying a golden greatsword. His role is protective and observational rather than central to the inheritance competition. He watches closely when Meng Hao produces an unprecedented result in the fourth matrix, recognizing the former prospective captive as an extraordinary contender. (Chapters 120 and 126)

Zhao is a hulking armored man whose massive golden sword matches his build. He is forceful, opportunistic, and quick to claim talent or unusual phenomena for the Golden Frost Sect. He is also practical enough to flee an ancient expert he cannot oppose.
