Yuwen Jian
Yuwen Jian is the Seventh Mountain's boisterous Echelon cultivator, renowned for his spear and formidable fleshly body.
Biography
Seventh Nation challenger
Yuwen Jian enters the Windswept Realm as the Seventh Mountain's Echelon cultivator, stationed at the Seventh Nation's National Aura Mountain. Rather than hide behind its defenses, he takes his long spear and flies out to meet Meng Hao because waiting for a challenger is contrary to his nature. Their first clash pits two exceptional fleshly bodies against each other and leaves Yuwen Jian excited by an opponent who can withstand his direct style. (Chapters 1109–1110)
His old enemy Hai Dongqing interrupts the contest. Both come from the Seventh Mountain and Sea and have accumulated a feud so deep that Yuwen Jian openly mocks Hai Dongqing's service to Dao-Heaven. Meng Hao kills Hai Dongqing's bodies with speed Yuwen Jian cannot match, convincing him that the new rival is stronger than expected. Yuwen Jian then bargains over World Seals and delays completing enlightenment until Meng Hao's battle-ax nearly cuts him apart, a comic exchange that gradually turns rivalry into cooperation. Against Dao-Heaven
Yuwen Jian goes to the Sixth Nation and becomes involved in the confrontation with Dao-Heaven. He unleashes the Ninth Transformation of the Six Times Nine God Body and a Paragon magic built from blood-colored images, but Dao-Heaven's overwhelming force smashes the technique. When Hong Bin dies, Yuwen Jian blames himself and continues fighting despite being outmatched. He uses the full power of body cultivation and Meng Hao's battle-ax to buy time for Meng Hao's transformation rather than retreat to preserve his own Echelon standing. (Chapters 1117–1121)
The surviving Echelon cultivators later converge on the central temple, contemplate the Windswept Realm's natural laws, and confront the Emperor's betrayal. Seeing Hong Bin's soul reveals that the Emperor—not Dao-Heaven—was the true killer, redirecting Yuwen Jian's hatred. Sea Dream extracts the survivors and orders them to conceal what happened, binding former rivals together through knowledge of a realm's rebellion. (Chapters 1133–1151)
Seventh Mountain war and reincarnation
Meng Hao later finds Yuwen Jian defending the Seventh Mountain and Sea, soaked in blood and severely injured but still surrounded by enemies. Yuwen Jian uses the valuable weapon previously obtained from Meng Hao and guides him toward the Vale of the Godgrave, where ancient God blood can advance a Dao Realm fleshly body. Meng Hao rescues him as the dimension collapses, strengthening the alliance formed in Windswept. (Chapters 1312, 1319, 1322–1332)
Yuwen Jian continues fighting through the war and recognizes Meng Hao as the blazing sun capable of lifting the Realm's morale. As one of the last Echelon cultivators besides Dao-Heaven and Meng Hao, he is summoned before Sea Dream's final contingency. She sacrifices his ruined body and guides the surviving soul strand into reincarnation within the Devil Realm, positioning him to infiltrate one of the two great enemy powers. He later appears sealed among the Devil Realm's forces, still carrying out that mission. (Chapters 1337, 1399, 1574)
Appearance and personality
Yuwen Jian is a young man with an intensely murderous aura, usually seen gripping a long spear. His body cultivation gives him an imposing physical presence, and transformations magnify that impression.
He is boisterous, blunt, competitive, and brave to recklessness. He prefers meeting attacks outside defensive formations and speaks to rivals with little diplomacy. Yet he can revise blame when truth changes, feel guilt for an ally's death, and fight delaying actions when someone else has the better chance of victory. His humor, pride, and loyalty let him become Meng Hao's ally without ceasing to be a rival.

Echelon mark and World Seal
As Seventh Mountain representative, Yuwen Jian carries an Echelon mark and controls a national World Seal. Contemplating collected seals grants enlightenment of hundreds of Essences, though those insights are not hundreds of permanently completed Dao Essences. (Chapters 1109–1116)
Six Times Nine God Body
His body-cultivation inheritance multiplies physical power through transformations. At the Ninth Transformation he absorbs surrounding energy, enlarges his combat presence, and withstands exchanges that destroy ordinary Immortals. (Chapters 1110, 1118–1121)
Spear arts
Yuwen Jian channels murderous aura through a long spear and manifests traces or souls of enemies slain along his path. The weapon supports direct penetrating attacks. (Chapters 1109–1113)
Blood-colored Paragon magic
Against Dao-Heaven he produces multiple blood-colored images. Dao-Heaven destroys it with superior force, establishing that the name does not make Yuwen Jian equal to a true Paragon. (Chapters 1118–1119)
Ancient God knowledge
He directs Meng Hao toward the Vale of the Godgrave, where ancient God blood can temper a Dao Realm body. This is lineage knowledge, not an ability to create the blood. (Chapters 1312, 1322–1332)
