Biography

Reverend Violet East’s instruction

Sun Tao receives Meng Hao privately and reveals that he is an apprentice alchemist of Reverend Violet East. He passes on his master’s warning that Meng Hao must never abandon the Dao of alchemy. The meeting frames Sun Tao as a custodian of an older alchemical lineage: despite also standing at the peak of Dao Seeking, the message he considers important enough to preserve concerns Meng Hao’s craft rather than battle power. Wedding and Northern Reaches invasion

Sun Tao accepts Meng Hao’s wedding invitation and contributes an alchemical spectacle: a pill-furnace manifestation accompanied by golden-armored imperial bodyguards. The celebratory display later becomes part of his war power when the Northern Reaches invade. Fighting after bodily destruction

The war destroys Sun Tao’s fleshly body, but does not end his resistance. His Nascent Divinity emerges and continues fighting independently, allowing him to remain a peak-level participant after suffering what would ordinarily be a fatal physical loss. Final sacrifice

Sun Tao ultimately confronts a peak Dao Seeking old woman from the Northern Reaches. He converts his remaining Nascent Divinity into a flood of destructive light that engulfs both of them. The attack kills his opponent, but consumes Sun Tao as well. His final action removes an enemy of the same broad cultivation tier at the cost of his own complete death, carrying his defense of the Southern Domain through even after the loss of his body. Appearance and personality
