Pill Auctioneer
The Pill Auctioneer is the unnamed middle-aged Violet Fate Sect alchemist who conducts the annual Pill Auction in Violet Moon City.
Biography
Opening the annual auction
The auctioneer opens Violet Moon City’s annual Pill Auction before a crowd of roughly one hundred thousand cultivators. He announces that 789 lots will be sold and explains the sect’s testing procedure, in which Violet Qi to the West disciples publicly demonstrate medicinal effects. He then moves through pills intended for multiple cultivation stages, balancing technical explanations with the pace required to manage hundreds of lots and an enormous audience. (Chapters 230–231)
Foundation Establishment Day
He introduces Li Tao’s Foundation Establishment Day as a prestigious master-alchemist creation. The pill’s reputation and demonstrated quality drive its price to a record four million Spirit Stones. After that climax, interest in the remaining lots falls sharply. The auctioneer responds professionally by accelerating the sale, but that loss of momentum shapes how he initially treats a later anonymous poison pill called Bedevilment: without a recognized creator or familiar pedigree, it appears unlikely to revive the crowd. (Chapters 231–232)
The Bedevilment Pill test
Following the auction’s rules, the auctioneer scrapes a small amount of powder from the Bedevilment Pill and gives it to a test disciple. The result is far beyond the expected poison demonstration. The disciple erupts with the power of late Foundation Establishment, and the audience immediately demands a test of the full pill’s medicinal strength. The auctioneer is astonished and regrets shaving material from an artifact now clearly more valuable than its initial appraisal suggested. (Chapters 232–233)
Birth of the Pill Cauldron legend
As the hall approaches chaos, the auctioneer summons veteran alchemists and Furnace Lords rather than risk an uncontrolled full-strength test. Their examination confirms that the pill came from a master alchemist, and the crowd gives its unknown creator the title Grandmaster Pill Cauldron. With the anonymous lot transformed into the event’s central prize, the auctioneer conducts the unprecedented bidding until An Zaihai buys it on behalf of Grandmaster Pill Demon. His role in the episode is administrative rather than creative, but his test and management provide the public stage on which Meng Hao’s new identity is born. (Chapters 233–235)
Appearance and personality
He is a middle-aged man with the practiced courtesy and projection needed to address an immense auction hall. Under ordinary conditions he is confident, efficient, and capable of keeping hundreds of lots moving. The Bedevilment Pill exposes the limits of that composure: he becomes astonished by its effect, regretful over the sample he removed, and nervous as the crowd approaches disorder. Even then, he responds by summoning more qualified experts rather than pretending to understand what exceeds his experience.
Abilities and cultivation
Pill identification and presentation
The auctioneer can explain a pill’s stated purpose, cultivation-stage application, creator, and expected value to a mixed audience. That knowledge allows him to establish confidence in ordinary lots and distinguish prestigious master-alchemist work from anonymous submissions. His initial underestimation of the Bedevilment Pill also defines the limit of this skill: provenance and surface appraisal cannot fully reveal an unprecedented formula.
Controlled medicinal testing
He administers small samples through designated disciples so buyers can observe effects before bidding. The procedure reduces uncertainty and protects the auction’s credibility, but it depends on predictable dosage and known categories. Bedevilment overwhelms those assumptions, producing a dramatic cultivation effect from powder alone and making a full-strength test too dangerous and valuable to conduct casually.
Auction management
He controls lot order, bidding cadence, explanations, and audience expectations across 789 sales. When a routine event escalates, he can summon veteran alchemists and Furnace Lords with greater technical authority. This is institutional command within the auction rather than personal supremacy: once senior figures arrive, he defers to their analysis.
Limits of the supplied evidence
The supplied chapters identify him as an alchemist and auction officiator, but do not state his cultivation realm or show a personal combat art. His demonstrated strengths are technical knowledge, public administration, and crisis response.

- Li Tao: Introduces the master alchemist’s record-setting pills.
- Meng Hao: Unknowingly launches the Pill Cauldron legend by auctioning Meng Hao’s anonymous Bedevilment Pill.
- An Zaihai: Senior alchemist to whom he defers during analysis and bidding.
Items
- Bedevilment Pill: An anonymous pill submitted by Meng Hao and temporarily handled by the auctioneer as a sale lot. The auctioneer removes a minute sample for testing, but does not create or ultimately own the pill. (Chapters 232–235)
