Patriarch Pockmarks

Patriarch Pockmarks is the late Core Formation leader of the Han River Sect who pursues Meng Hao after losing auction wealth to his scheme.

Biography

Pursuit from the Dongluo auction

Pockmarks is the strongest of the three Core Formation pursuers Meng Hao initially considers worth watching after the auction theft. He joins Patriarch Rubicund and the other aggrieved cultivators in chasing the thief across the Black Lands, his eyes filled with sinister killing intent. The pursuit is driven by both humiliation and material loss: Meng Hao has taken the auction goods and then tricked the crowd out of its remaining wealth. (Chapters 332–334)

At Meng Hao's cave, Pockmarks escalates the chase into an extermination order, telling the Han River Sect disciples to kill everyone and leave nothing alive. When a subordinate becomes trapped in the parrot's formation and begs for rescue, however, Pockmarks' danger sense makes him stop and retreat rather than enter blindly. He accepts Patriarch Big-head's judgment that the formation can be broken and lends his cultivation power, along with the sect's forces, to fuel the Hellfire assault. (Chapters 334–336)

Reversal and apparent death

The attackers breach the formation but emerge injured and shaken, allowing Meng Hao to reverse the hunt. Pockmarks flees in a separate direction with cracks covering his Core and only about thirty percent of his cultivation available. A Blood Clone fused with Demonic qi and accompanied by fifty formation-linked cultivators surrounds him. His earlier hostility collapses into a claim that everything was a misunderstanding, but a boom and red mist cut off the negotiation. (Chapter 340)

The scene does not show a corpse. In the next chapter, Patriarch Big-head senses ill tidings from both Pockmarks and Rubicund and believes himself the only survivor of the original group. Pockmarks is therefore treated as apparently killed by the incarnation, while the exact final blow remains off-page. (Chapter 341)

Appearance and personality

He is an old man whose face is covered in pockmarks. He is vindictive and willing to order collective punishment against everyone protecting Meng Hao, not merely the thief himself. He is also more cautious than his rhetoric suggests: he refuses to rush into an unknown formation, cooperates with the more technically capable Big-head, and attempts to negotiate once badly injured and isolated.

Abilities and cultivation

Pockmarks is a late Core Formation cultivator, despite the honorific “Patriarch”; the supplied chapters do not identify him as Nascent Soul.

Sect command

He directs Han River Sect cultivators during the pursuit and can communicate intent to them with a glance. His extermination order sends the disciples into the parrot's defenses, allowing him to test the danger without personally entering first. Command gives him numbers, but those forces remain vulnerable to unfamiliar formations. (Chapters 334–335)

Cultivation transfer

Pockmarks can channel cultivation-base power into Patriarch Big-head, who absorbs contributions from the assembled experts and disciples to fuel a Hellfire formation-breaking technique. The destructive spell belongs to Big-head; Pockmarks functions as a power source and coordinator rather than its caster. (Chapter 336)

Core Formation endurance and limitations

He survives the formation breach but with severe internal damage: his Core is cracked and only roughly thirty percent of his cultivation remains usable. In that state he cannot break out of Meng Hao's Blood Clone, red mist, and fifty-person formation. The fate demonstrates how strongly his effective power depends on an intact Core and supporting sect formation. (Chapter 340)
