Ou Yunzi

Ou Yunzi is a cautious Eight Branch Alliance elder who survives Meng Hao's destruction of the Alliance trap and later joins the Crow Divinity Tribe's Nascent Soul forces.

Biography

Guarding the trade city

Ou Yunzi intercepts Sun Dahai and the cloaked Meng Hao before they enter the Alliance's city. He introduces himself politely and examines both travelers, but his pupils contract when his early Nascent Soul cultivation cannot read Meng Hao's level. Sun and Ou exchange vague courtesies while quietly testing each other's story. Ou allows them through, then drops the pleasant expression once they are out of sight, showing that the welcome is surveillance rather than trust. (Chapter 489)

During the auction trap, Ou is among the Alliance's leading cultivators. When Meng Hao resists the Demonic qi formation and carries Sun Dahai away, Ou joins three other pursuers. Their minor teleportations and repeated techniques cannot pin him down; instead, his strange counterattacks make them increasingly frustrated and alarmed. By the end of the pursuit, Ou is already pale from recognizing how badly they have misjudged the cloaked stranger. (Chapters 491–492)

Defeat and change of allegiance

Meng Hao's counterattack destroys Ou's body in blood and gore along with two allies, but their Nascent Souls escape. Ou looks back in fear and despair rather than continuing the attack. This is a physical-body loss, not his final death. (Chapter 493)

Within the following year, Ou and several other survivors become part of the Crow Divinity Tribe, increasing its Nascent Soul contingent. By Chapter 508 he is fighting a mid Nascent Soul elder of the Sea Demon Tribe. Meng Hao intervenes against that opponent, after which Ou leaves to assist other tribespeople. His later conduct places him inside the coalition he once tried to trap, although the corpus does not narrate the exact negotiation or motive for joining. (Chapters 500 and 508)

Appearance and personality

Ou Yunzi is an old man with blotchy brown marks on his face. He is cautious, observant, and practiced at hiding concern behind an ordinary smile. His inability to read Meng Hao makes him vigilant from their first meeting, but institutional confidence still leads him into the pursuit. After losing his body, he adapts to the changed balance of power and fights for the Crow Divinity side rather than clinging to the defeated Alliance.

Abilities and cultivation

Ou begins at the early Nascent Soul stage and later remains capable of fighting a mid-stage elder with support.

Nascent Soul perception

He can examine unfamiliar cultivators and immediately recognizes when Meng Hao's cultivation is beyond his reading. That uncertainty informs his guarded behavior but does not reveal Meng Hao's actual identity or technique. His perception therefore functions as warning rather than precise appraisal. (Chapter 489)

Minor teleportation and combined combat

Ou and the other Alliance elders use repeated minor teleportations while surrounding Meng Hao, adding magical techniques, divine abilities, manifested faces, and Demonic qi to the assault. The approach depends on numbers and constant repositioning. Meng Hao's movement and counters frustrate the formation, and the group cannot stop him from protecting Sun Dahai. (Chapter 492)

Nascent Soul escape and later warfare

When his body collapses, Ou's Nascent Soul escapes the destruction and preserves his life. This is a standard function demonstrated by the scene, but it leaves him terrified and physically dispossessed. Later he can again participate in Nascent Soul warfare, implying recovery or a replacement body that the supplied text does not explain. Against the Sea Demon mid-stage elder, he benefits from Meng Hao's intervention rather than winning alone. (Chapters 493, 500, and 508)
