Meng Ru

Meng Ru is a young woman of Meng Hao's suppressed maternal branch whose attempt to obtain medicine for Grandma Meng leads directly to the family's restoration.

Biography

The stolen pill

Meng Ru appears as a servant in the ancestral mansion after taking a medicinal pill for the dying Grandma Meng. Members of the dominant branch break her fingers and destroy the medicine in front of her. She refuses to cry under the physical abuse; tears come only when the pill—and with it her chance to help her grandmother—is lost. (Chapter 1254)

Meng Hao initially allows her to mistake him for Meng Chen, the relative she expects might save them. He stops the punishment, heals her hands, and asks her to lead him to the family's exiled residence. The encounter gives him direct evidence that political decline has become systematic abuse of the branch's youngest members. (Chapters 1254–1256)

Gathering the tenth bloodline

After reaching Grandma Meng and the two suppressed granduncles, Meng Ru helps connect Meng Hao to the family's scattered survivors. Meng Hao sends her out under the mastiff's protection to call them home. She accepts the risk and succeeds, turning from an isolated servant into an active messenger for the branch's reassembly. Meng Ru then guides Meng Hao through the ancestral mansion to find other detained young women, including Qiu'er and Meng Fei. Although the clan's formations and patriarchs terrify her, she trusts him and continues identifying where relatives are held. Appearance and personality

Meng Ru is a pretty young woman with a red birthmark. Her endurance is moral as much as physical: she bears broken fingers without tears but grieves when her family loses medicine.
