Ke Yunhai

Ke Yunhai is the lord of the ancient Demon Immortal Sect's Fourth Peak and Ke Jiusi's devoted father.

Biography

Fourth Peak and the returned son

In the Demon Immortal Sect's Second Plane, Meng Hao occupies the identity of Ke Jiusi and is received by Ke Yunhai as the son who has finally returned to the Fourth Peak. Ke Yunhai is one of the ancient sect's supreme authorities, yet the reunion immediately exposes a private weakness beneath that position: his affection survives Ke Jiusi's history of causing trouble and disappointment. He disciplines the returned son according to sect rules, but even punishment is mixed with concern over whether the boy understands him and why he will not cry out as before. (Chapters 569–575)

Meng Hao initially treats the relationship as part of the illusory world's role, then begins answering Ke Yunhai's care as a son. Ke Yunhai, already white-haired and nearing the end of his life, devotes the time remaining to preparing that son rather than preserving himself. He recommends three major arts suited to Meng Hao's needs: the Mountain Consuming Incantation, the Heavenly Demon Transformation, and the Soul Divergence Incantation, whose undying-soul principle Ke Yunhai values even though it is unsuitable for his own path. His guidance is individualized rather than a simple transfer of everything he knows. (Chapters 575 and 577)

The Demon Immortal Pagoda

Ke Yunhai then pays an extraordinary institutional and personal price to open the ninety-nine-level Demon Immortal Pagoda twice. He obtains the consent of the other Sect Priests and spends two months personally preparing resources: thousands of magical items infused with his life force, tens of thousands of Demon Weapons, a vast number of talismans, and a million Demon Stones. The pagoda grants chances to obtain stronger Daoist magics at successive levels, but it remains a trial; the resources expand Meng Hao's opportunity and endurance rather than guaranteeing victory. He also teaches the Nine Heavens Treasured Body Seal and explains its interaction with fleshly cultivation. The technique fuses magical items into the body, while the Mountain Consuming Incantation and Fleshly Sanctification build lasting physical strength. Ke Yunhai is careful about sequence and compatibility, showing that his instruction concerns mechanics and risk, not merely naming prestigious arts. When Meng Hao pushes into the pagoda's most dangerous reaches, Ke Yunhai's protective will and preparations help carry him through without erasing the effort required of the disciple. Death, recognition, and inheritance

Ke Yunhai's life is already like a dimming lamp, and the expense of his final arrangements cannot reverse that decline. He dies after giving Meng Hao the instruction, resources, and paternal recognition that Ke Jiusi had long failed to appreciate. The sect tolls the bell ninety-nine times and bows for a fallen Paragon and peak lord. When the Second Plane's truth becomes clear, Meng Hao learns that Ke Yunhai saw through the borrowed identity: he knew the person before him was not simply his original son, yet accepted him as a son nonetheless. That knowledge turns Meng Hao's grief from attachment to a role into grief for a real father he cannot save. (Chapters 590–597)

Ke Yunhai's death also passes the Fourth Peak legacy onward. Meng Hao leaves with techniques and memory, while the real Ke Jiusi's soul remains bound to the same paternal history. The inheritance is therefore divided between bloodline and chosen relationship: Ke Jiusi is the son for whom Ke Yunhai built a future, and Meng Hao is the outsider whom Ke Yunhai recognized and loved within the final repetition of that past. The Wider Ninth Mountain and Sea

During Meng Hao's true-Immortal ascension, Ke Yunhai appears as part of a manifestation connected to Ke Jiusi and the Demon Immortal Sect. The apparition releases the Demon Immortal Dragon, which contributes to Meng Hao's Immortal meridians. It functions as a legacy answering the bond formed in the Second Plane, not evidence that Ke Yunhai has returned to ordinary life. (Chapters 981–982)

Vast Expanse and Transcendence

Allheaven later projects Ke Yunhai into the false world surrounding Meng Hao, using his deepest paternal attachments to reinforce the deception. The projection instead rejects the imposed role. It destroys its own body against the world's barrier and uses that sacrifice to awaken Meng Hao, reenacting the father's defining choice to spend himself for his son. The actor is an Allheaven projection rather than Ke Yunhai restored bodily to life, but the deception fails precisely because a convincing Ke Yunhai cannot remain passive while Meng Hao is imprisoned. Appearance and personality

Ke Yunhai is white-haired, aged, and visibly close to the end of his life during the Second Plane. His failing vitality is repeatedly compared to an oil lamp running out of fuel, a contrast to the immense authority he still carries as Fourth Peak Lord and Sect Priest. The image makes the cost of his final gifts legible: each use of life force comes from a supply that is already almost exhausted. (Chapters 575 and 578–595)

He combines stern public discipline with almost limitless paternal generosity. Ke Yunhai does not excuse every offense or abandon sect order for Ke Jiusi, but he quietly protects, teaches, negotiates, and spends his remaining life to give his son another chance. His acceptance of Meng Hao after recognizing the substituted soul makes that love discerning rather than blind. He understands that something is wrong, chooses the relationship anyway, and leaves Meng Hao with both gratitude and unresolved grief. (Chapters 569–597)

Abilities and cultivation

Paragon cultivation and peak authority

Ke Yunhai is a Paragon, Fourth Peak Lord, and one of the Demon Immortal Sect's Sect Priests. His position gives him command over peak resources and enormous prestige, but opening the sect's greatest training ground still requires agreement and payment to the other priests; authority does not mean the institution has no constraints. (Chapters 575–578 and 595–597)

Daoist-magic instruction

He understands the requirements and compatibility of ancient arts well enough to choose techniques for another cultivator. The Mountain Consuming Incantation builds fleshly power from mountains, the Heavenly Demon Transformation provides a transformative legacy, and the Soul Divergence Incantation concerns an undying soul. Ke Yunhai recommends them rather than being indiscriminately credited with every art Meng Hao later obtains. (Chapter 577)

Nine Heavens Treasured Body Seal

Ke Yunhai teaches a method for fusing magical items into the flesh so the body itself gains treasure-like qualities. Its effectiveness depends on suitable items, repeated refinement, and integration with fleshly cultivation; it is a progression system, not a single attack that instantly grants an indestructible body. Fleshly cultivation design

He explains how Fleshly Sanctification and the Mountain Consuming Incantation can produce permanent, compounding bodily growth. His strength here is both cultivation knowledge and pedagogy: he gives Meng Hao a path whose components reinforce one another rather than isolated techniques. (Chapter 578)

Life-force crafting

Ke Yunhai personally infuses five thousand magical items with life force and assembles Demon Weapons, talismans, and Demon Stones for the pagoda attempt. The preparation shows large-scale crafting and resource control, but it carries a real cost for an already dying cultivator. (Chapter 578)

Protective manifestations and legacy

His will can persist in the Second Plane's pagoda arrangements and later spiritual manifestations connected to the Demon Immortal Sect. These appearances protect or empower Meng Hao, but they are legacies, memories, or projections; they should not be treated as proof that Ke Yunhai survived death unchanged.
