Gu La's Third Apprentice
Gu La's Third Apprentice is an unnamed young Dragoneer who tries to seize Meng Hao's neo-demons by invoking his master's authority.
Biography
Attempted seizure
The apprentice enters the Crow Divinity region boasting that his connection to Master Gu La entitles him to take an Ironblack Snake. He is already treating tribal rank as permission to appropriate other people's neo-demons when he encounters Meng Hao's unusually powerful wolves. Convinced that presenting such beasts to Gu La will raise him above his first and second senior brothers, he attacks instead of investigating their owner. (Chapters 411–412)
His prepared pack of more than twenty Zombie Wolves emerges from a black bracelet, while a sixth-level rotting wolf serves as his strongest controlled beast. Meng Hao's Hairy pack overwhelms them. A protective totem supplied by Gu La blocks a killing blow, but the bracelet itself disintegrates as the stored wolves are released and defeated. The losses do not make the apprentice reassess Meng Hao; they make him lean harder on borrowed status. (Chapter 412)
Misreading every warning
The apprentice attempts to turn Gu La's wider resources against Meng Hao. He calls on the Wild Giant under Gu La's care, only to watch it submit to Meng Hao. When Gu La arrives on his own violet Flood Dragon, the youth assumes that his master will punish the outsider and repeatedly accuses Meng Hao. Instead, Gu La recognizes Meng Hao as his Young Master. Each fresh insult therefore implicates Gu La himself and worsens the disciple's position. (Chapters 413–415)
Even after the relationship is made clear, the apprentice continues shouting. Gu La strikes him, publicly rejects his conduct, and finally tramples him unconscious. His arc ends not because his cultivation was uniquely weak, but because entitlement prevented him from recognizing a complete reversal of authority. (Chapter 416)
Appearance and personality
He is a young man whose detailed features are not recorded. Arrogance is his defining trait: he covets rare beasts, measures success against his senior brothers, and treats Gu La's name as a weapon. He is also catastrophically poor at reading danger, interpreting submission and repeated warnings as temporary obstacles rather than proof that his assumptions are wrong.
Abilities and cultivation
Early Foundation Establishment cultivation
He possesses an early Foundation Establishment cultivation base. This supports his physical and magical participation in the encounter but is insufficient against Meng Hao or the Hairy pack.
Dragoneer control
His genuine specialty is maintaining and releasing Zombie Wolves, including a rotting sixth-level beast, from a bracelet. The pack provides numbers and coordinated pressure, but once released it can be physically overwhelmed, and destruction of the storage medium leaves him without that reserve.
Borrowed protection and command
Gu La's protective totem automatically intercepts a potentially lethal strike. The apprentice can also summon help connected to his master, but neither the Wild Giant nor Gu La's violet Flood Dragon is established as his personal neo-demon. The Wild Giant's refusal exposes the limit of his authority: he can call it, not compel it against someone it recognizes as superior.
