Big Hairy
Big Hairy is the white-scarred first of Meng Hao's five Greenwood Wolves and the pack's dominant Wolf King. Care, Demonic Qi, and repeated battles transform him from a starving pup into a Sacred Ancient.
Biography
From starving pup to Wolf King
Big Hairy begins as the white-scarred first of five starving Greenwood Wolf pups Meng Hao raises in the Crow Scout Tribe. Competition for food is brutal, and when Meng Hao introduces a pill infused with Demonic Qi, the pups fight for the opportunity to consume it. Big Hairy wins, absorbs the power, becomes the dominant wolf, and rapidly reaches strength sufficient to defeat level-four neo-demons. His rise is therefore cultivated through care and a scarce resource, not evidence that every Greenwood Wolf naturally becomes a king. (Chapters 393–396)
Meng Hao keeps the wolf's true level suppressed while tribal rivals try to assess or steal the pack. Big Hairy ignores Mo Fang's enticements and releases his hidden savagery only at Meng Hao's command. His fur turns white, his level-eight power erupts, and he kills Mo Fang's Giant Ape by tearing off its head. Afterward he bows when Meng Hao releases Demon Sealer pressure, confirming a bond stronger than pills offered by competing Dragoneers. (Chapters 397–406)
Pack leader and mount
Big Hairy leads the Greenwood Wolves on hunts and answers Meng Hao's howl with the rest of the pack. He reveals himself as the White Wolf King, enlarges his body, and overwhelms a level-seven Flood Dragon. Against Gu La and other beast cultivators he remains cold and vigilant rather than accepting claims from anyone with a branding method. His loyalty makes him both the pack's dominant animal and the focal point through which Meng Hao commands the other wolves. (Chapters 408–416)
Meng Hao begins riding Big Hairy as a mount. The wolf's howl frightens other tribes' neo-demons, while speed and size let him carry Meng Hao into tribal confrontations. This role depends on trust as well as strength: Big Hairy shifts from savage attack to stillness around his master and positions himself to protect nearby allies without constant spoken commands. (Chapters 418–421)
Migration battles
During the Crow Divinity Tribe's wars and migration, Big Hairy becomes one of the horde's principal battle organisms. He can grow to roughly three hundred meters, combine with other neo-demons against enormous magical attacks, and descend into battle like a silver moon. The Black Bat can form one wing of a larger combined body while Big Hairy anchors the wolf component, showing that Meng Hao's horde fights as an integrated formation rather than isolated pets. (Chapters 433–445)
The migration repeatedly injures him. Big Hairy lies beside Meng Hao offering quiet yips after battle, later greets his return with the pack, and is severely wounded during the tribe's flight. He continues appearing among the massed beasts through the migration's end, but loyalty and growth do not make him immune to opponents or environmental attrition. (Chapters 452, 476–493 and 510)
When Meng Hao leaves, Big Hairy and the other beasts whine and resist the separation. Over the following decades he advances to level eleven and becomes a totemic Sacred Ancient, a living object of worship and protection for the Crow Divinity Tribe. (Chapters 515 and 519)
Nine Seas and the Windswept Realm
Meng Hao later returns to the Crow Divinity Tribe and reunites with Big Hairy. The wolf has remained as the tribe's guardian and wants to continue protecting the people who have worshiped him for generations. Meng Hao considers taking him away, then respects that choice and instead raises his cultivation and longevity. Their reunion preserves loyalty without requiring possession: Big Hairy remains Meng Hao's beast companion while choosing a duty rooted in the life he built during their separation. (Chapter 1170)
Appearance and personality
Big Hairy is marked early by white scarring and later transforms into a brilliant White or Silver Wolf whose fur shines like moonlight. He can expand from an ordinary wolf shape to a body hundreds of meters long, producing kingly pressure that terrifies lesser neo-demons. (Chapters 393–405 and 412–445)
He is fiercely loyal to Meng Hao, dominant among wolves, vigilant around strangers, and savage once released into battle. Affection appears in exuberant greetings, soft yips, and grief at separation. His later desire to remain with the Crow Divinity Tribe shows that loyalty expands rather than transfers: guarding Meng Hao's former people becomes a chosen continuation of service. (Chapters 408–515 and 1170)
Abilities and cultivation
Demonic Qi development
Meng Hao's Demon Nurturing methods and pill-infused Demonic Qi awaken Big Hairy's potential far beyond an ordinary Greenwood Wolf. Absorption drives an early jump in dominance and level, while later growth continues through cultivation and battle. The resource is scarce and strongest under Meng Hao's guidance, so the initial transformation is not self-generated. (Chapters 393–406)
Suppressed and released level
Big Hairy can conceal his true savagery until Meng Hao commands release. At level eight he kills a Giant Ape and later a level-seven Flood Dragon with overwhelming physical force. Suppression creates surprise and control; it does not mean his full level is permanently active without cost or command. (Chapters 403–413)
Wolf-King pressure and pack command
His howl summons or coordinates the Greenwood Wolves and frightens lower neo-demons, allowing him to act as field leader. The pack bond amplifies group response, but individual wolves remain living beings that can be wounded or separated. (Chapters 411–420)
Size and physical combat
Big Hairy enlarges to roughly three hundred meters, uses speed, jaws, claws, and mass to tear apart beasts, and serves as Meng Hao's mount. Large form increases battlefield reach while also exposing him to giant weapons and coordinated attacks. (Chapters 405, 413, 418 and 441–445)
Horde formation
He fights in coordination with the Black Bat, Wild Giant, lizard, and other beasts, including combined bodies used against large-scale attacks. The form depends on Meng Hao's horde and is not solely Big Hairy's independent transformation. (Chapters 439–445 and 493)
Totemic Sacred Ancient
Reaching level eleven turns him into a Sacred Ancient linked to Crow Divinity worship. By Meng Hao's return he guards the tribe and receives a further cultivation and longevity increase, extending his duty rather than converting him into a human-form cultivator. (Chapters 519 and 1170)
