Fang Wei

Fang Wei is the preeminent Chosen of the Fang Clan and Meng Hao's central clan rival. Raised with Meng Hao's Nirvana Fruits, he contests every measure of status and power until their decisive battle, then resists the Sixth Patriarch's possession, returns what was stolen, and is ultimately restored to life.

Biography

Heir built from stolen fruit

Fang Wei and Meng Hao begin as children of the same direct clan line. While Meng Hao says he wants strength to protect his parents, Fang Wei declares that he will defend the Fang Clan. His later eminence is compromised by the adults around him: Meng Hao's Nirvana Fruits are removed after his childhood crisis and transplanted into Fang Wei, giving Fang Wei an inheritance that should never have been his. He nevertheless spends centuries cultivating, turning the advantage into genuine discipline, status, and battle power rather than relying on reputation alone. (Chapters 800, 895–916)

When Meng Hao returns to Planet East Victory, Fang Wei is the clan's acknowledged Prince and leading Chosen. Their competition unfolds through bloodline tests, the ancestral land, and the East Ascension Sun. Meng Hao repeatedly exceeds him, and a karmic strike destroys two of Fang Wei's three Dharma Idols, but Fang Wei refuses to accept displacement. His anger is inseparable from the life built for him by his father and grandfather: surrendering the fruits would mean admitting that the foundation of his supremacy belonged to someone else. True Immortal and final rivalry

Fang Wei opens ninety-eight Immortal meridians and receives a vision of ten thousand Immortal warriors bowing, becoming one of the first great lights of the new true-Immortal age. In his decisive duel with Meng Hao, Fang Clan secret magic expands his effective meridians to 143; awakening the two Nirvana Fruits adds another forty-nine, bringing him to 192 and nineteen Immortal souls. He then uses the One Thought Reincarnation Incantation and the fruits' power to continue escalating. Even this cannot overcome Meng Hao, who is the fruits' rightful owner and has surpassed their borrowed benefit. (Chapters 961–964, 987, 991–993)

The battle is overtaken by the Fang Clan rebellion and the Sixth Patriarch's long-prepared possession. For a time the ancestor controls Fang Wei's body, but Fang Wei's own consciousness survives in one eye. He returns Meng Hao's Nirvana Fruits and joins his cousin's attack from within, choosing the clan over his faction and his own life. The combined force of thirty-three Heavens and thirty-three Earths eradicates the Sixth Patriarch's doppelgänger soul; Fang Wei dies asking Meng Hao to defend the Fang Clan, fulfilling the promise he made as a child. Resurrection and the shield

The first-generation Patriarch reverses the battle's deaths and restores the loyal clan members while making the traitors pay the price. Fang Wei is among those returned, alive, lucid, and bitterly aware of what occurred. Fang Yanxu then selects him as successor to the clan's hidden role: the shield and shadow who gives up public glory so the sword can act outside. Fang Wei accepts the path that fits his oldest ambition more closely than the title of number-one Chosen ever did. (Chapters 1004–1006)

He later appears with Fang Clan forces at Heavencloud Bazaar and on Planet South Heaven, no longer contesting Meng Hao's place. During the Mountain and Sea war he fights as part of the clan and the broader resistance, contributing to the collective refusal to yield to the Outsiders. His later appearances complete the change from rival claimant to defender: he remains proud and formidable, but his purpose is service to the clan rather than supremacy over his cousin. Appearance and personality

Fang Wei is depicted as handsome, imposing, and increasingly severe as his rivalry with Meng Hao intensifies. During their final battle his body expands under the Nirvana Fruits until he stands nine meters tall, surrounded by Immortal dragons and souls; the transformation externalizes the unnatural weight of the inheritance inside him.

He is proud, stubborn, disciplined, and desperate for recognition. These traits first make him an antagonist: he treats every one of Meng Hao's successes as an assault on the identity he has spent centuries constructing. Yet his loyalty to the Fang Clan is older and deeper than that resentment. The Sixth Patriarch can exploit his body but cannot erase the child who vowed to defend the clan. Fang Wei's redemption does not pretend the rivalry never happened; it reveals which commitment survives when victory, inheritance, and life itself must be surrendered.

Abilities and cultivation

Ninety-eight Immortal meridians

Fang Wei opens ninety-eight true meridians, producing ninety-eight Immortal dragons and establishing him as one of his era's greatest natural Chosen. The achievement is his own cultivation, even though the Nirvana Fruits later augment it. (Chapters 964, 991)

Fang Clan meridian amplification

A clan secret magic creates more than forty illusory meridians, raising his displayed total to 143 and producing fourteen Immortal souls. The increase is roughly fifty percent over his base, but the added meridians are temporary constructs rather than true channels opened during Ascension. (Chapter 991)

Nirvana Fruit awakening

Meng Hao's two transplanted fruits function like additional beating hearts. When fully activated, they add forty-nine further illusory meridians, enlarge Fang Wei's body, and bring his combat state to 192 meridians and nineteen souls. Because the fruits belong to Meng Hao, their awakening also exposes the central weakness and injustice of Fang Wei's foundation. (Chapters 987, 991)

One Thought Reincarnation Incantation

Fang Wei forms a black-and-white vortex radiating the aura of reincarnation. It is a supreme Fang Clan art aligned with the clan's ancient Dao of reincarnation and channels his expanded Immortal power into a cycle that attacks through life, death, and return. (Chapters 991–993)

Yellow Springs power

His secret techniques manifest the will and power of the Yellow Springs, which he combines with hundreds of meridians during the possessed battle. The expression supplies crushing force against Meng Hao's Paragon Bridge and complements the reincarnation Dao. (Chapters 991, 997)

Dharma Idols

Before Immortal Ascension, Fang Wei possesses three Dharma Idols. Meng Hao's karmic attack seals and shatters two, showing that the idols are extensions of cultivation that can be damaged at the level of natural law rather than simple projections replaceable at will. (Chapter 938)

Resistance to possession

Fang Wei cannot prevent the Sixth Patriarch from seizing his body, but he preserves an independent consciousness, returns the Nirvana Fruits, and attacks the invader from within. This is willpower and clan loyalty rather than a formal soul technique, yet it is decisive in destroying an ancestor far beyond his own level. (Chapters 997–998)
