Fan Dong'er

Fan Dong'er is the leading Goddess of the Nine Seas God World. She first clashes with Meng Hao over the Immortal Ancient temple, is cursed with a corpse follower, and remains one of his principal generational rivals through the Ancient Road and Fang Clan conflicts.

Biography

Immortal Ancient Daoist Rite temple

Fan Dong'er comes to Planet South Heaven as the Nine Seas God World's Goddess, one of the foremost young cultivators competing for the Immortal Ancient Dao Medallion. She quickly recognizes that the local cultivator guarding the ancient temple is more dangerous than he appears. Her Blue Lotus Magic nearly catches him, but his Lightning Cauldron exchanges his position with Li Ling'er and forces Fan Dong'er to cancel the attack before it strikes the wrong target. She then studies the temple's cycle of day and night, hides an entrance technique in the image of a door within her pupils, and enters the courtyard at the moment yin and yang transpose. Her preparation prevents Meng Hao from simply exchanging positions with her and stealing the opening. (Chapters 806 and 813–815)

Inside the courtyard, Fan Dong'er fights Meng Hao and his second true self through more than a hundred exchanges. She summons a sea and sea dragons to break the pull of his Star Plucking Magic, then blows a conch whose Dao music becomes symbol-filled bubbles: one burst stops the second true self and injures Meng Hao. The technique creates a genuine opening, but it requires her to blow the conch and does not prevent Meng Hao from recovering, dragging her back, and throwing her into the haunted well. When she escapes at dawn, the ancient female corpse from the well is bound to her and mirrors her movements wherever she goes. The public humiliation turns an already serious rivalry into a personal hatred, while the corpse becomes a dangerous burden that she cannot simply discard. (Chapters 815–820)

Ancient Road and true Immortality

Fan Dong'er enters the Three Great Daoist Societies' arena as an established Chosen. She reaches the final eight, but her unsettled Dao Heart contributes to two defeats and elimination before the semifinals. That failure matters because Meng Hao has become an inner Devil in her cultivation: defeating or surpassing him is no longer merely a matter of pride, but part of restoring confidence in her own path. During the Fang Clan's East Ascension Sun event she reaches the 180,000-meter height with the help of a sun-resisting treasure, only after the heat drives her beyond her unaided bodily limit and makes her cough up blood. Above the Ninth Sea, Fan Dong'er challenges the Door of Immortality with the explicit resolve to surpass Meng Hao. Immortal light remolds her body and opens ninety-six Immortal meridians, placing her among the greatest true Immortals of her generation. Her Ninth Sea Immortality Incantation can double that Immortal power, but Meng Hao's later ascension still carries him far beyond the other Chosen. The breakthrough therefore completes her true-Immortal foundation without resolving the rivalry that drove it. (Chapters 957, 961, and 969–984)

Nine Seas God World and the Windswept Realm

When Meng Hao enters the Nine Seas God World, Fan Dong'er is forced to deal with him on her sect's ground. Their hostility remains open, but the sect's rules and trials repeatedly put her in the role of witness or guide rather than executioner. She wagers against his performance in the Golden Gate body-cultivation trial and loses when he reaches second place, another humiliation that confirms the widening gap between them. During the conflict with the sea demons, she also acts for the Nine Seas God World's interests instead of allowing rivalry alone to dictate her decisions. (Chapters 1039–1071)

Fan Dong'er enters the Windswept Realm with the Mountain and Sea cultivators and takes residence in the Ninth Nation. The realm amplifies desire as the nation's protective qi flow weakens; she is the first of her group to recognize the intrusion, but secluded meditation cannot fully suppress it. She therefore helps defend Mount Whiteseal because losing its World Seal and National Aura would leave her unable to resist the realm's influence. Against Echelon cultivator Han Qinglei, her sealing symbols and magic bottle are overpowered by one of his three bodies. A blow to her mind breaks her concealment of the corpse, whose death aura and hair force Han Qinglei to retreat briefly, but even their combined pressure cannot defeat him. Meng Hao ultimately restores her exhausted cultivation and recruits her and Bei Yu to attack the Eighth Nation's central temple, turning former enemies into temporary allies with a common survival interest. Meng Clan and the Mountain and Sea War

As the war for the Mountain and Sea Realm expands, the old contests among Chosen become secondary to collective survival. Fan Dong'er sees the light of Meng Hao's aura reach the Ninth Mountain and Sea and, despite mixed feelings about their history, draws encouragement from it like the other cultivators. When he returns as the realm's preeminent defender, she and the other former rivals no longer treat him as merely another member of their generation. The change marks the end of their competition on equal terms: Meng Hao has become a symbol around whom the realm rallies. (Chapters 1338, 1344, and 1352)

Vast Expanse and Transcendence

Allheaven later reproduces Fan Dong'er among the familiar soul-projections surrounding Meng Hao inside a manufactured reality. The projection is destroyed when Meng Hao rejects the false world, so that appearance does not establish the fate of the original woman. (Chapters 1509–1510)

Beyond Allheaven

Fan Dong'er emerges from the void during the return of the Mountain and Sea dead. Unlike many of those restored, she had not died in the war: the white-robed corpse had dragged her into the deepest void and preserved their strange connection until an exit opened. Much later, after Allheaven's curse and the restoration of reincarnation, her new mortal life retains the force of her old character. She becomes the leader of rebels against a tyrannical government, inspiring trust without relying on cultivation or sect status. (Chapters 1589 and 1612)

Appearance and personality

Fan Dong'er normally projects sacred composure: she is beautiful, aloof, and accustomed to being treated as the center of attention. Meng Hao's tricks repeatedly break that composure, not merely because they embarrass her, but because they expose limits she had never needed to confront. Her response is not withdrawal. She turns him into the standard she must surpass, attacks the Door of Immortality with that goal in mind, and continues fighting even after setbacks fracture her Dao Heart.

Her pride does not make her incapable of judgment. In the Windswept Realm she recognizes the corrupting influence on her desires before most of her companions, defends Mount Whiteseal because she understands the strategic consequence of losing it, and cooperates with Meng Hao when survival and access to the realm's Essences make cooperation rational. The corpse remains a source of humiliation, but she learns to conceal it and allows its deathly power to intervene when her life is threatened.

Abilities and cultivation

True-Immortal foundation

Before Immortal Ascension, Fan Dong'er is already one of the strongest Dao Seeking Chosen in the Ninth Mountain and Sea. At the Door of Immortality, Immortal qi remolds her body and opens ninety-six meridians. Each meridian carries Immortal power, making the quantity a direct measure of the breadth of her new foundation. She then uses the Ninth Sea Immortality Incantation to double her available power. This multiplication makes her exceptionally strong among ordinary true Immortals, but it does not erase the qualitative difference between her and Echelon cultivators such as Meng Hao or Han Qinglei. Blue Lotus Magic

Fan Dong'er's Blue Lotus holds the image of a young boy who beckons to the intended victim as though drawing that person inside to become a lotus seed. The attack carries enough killing intent that Meng Hao avoids receiving it directly by using Form Displacement Transposition. It is target-sensitive rather than indiscriminate: when Li Ling'er is exchanged into its path, Fan Dong'er holds the magic back, which prevents friendly harm but also lets the intended target escape. Ninth Sea manifestations and movement

Her sea arts allow her to point at the ground and manifest a vast sea from which more than ten sea dragons erupt. The dragons are forceful enough to dissipate Meng Hao's Star Plucking Magic and interrupt its control over her movement. She can also form a door inside her pupils and draw her body through it. At the Immortal Ancient temple, she times this movement for the transposition of yin and yang, entering during the safe nighttime interval and bypassing a gate that kills cultivators who use the wrong method. The technique's success depends on reading the environment and choosing the correct moment; it is not proof that she can ignore every restriction. (Chapters 815–816)

Dao-music conch

When Fan Dong'er blows her conch, it emits golden light and a strand of Dao music resembling a woman's song. The music becomes three colored bubbles, each holding a magical symbol. When one bursts, it arrests the movement of Meng Hao's second true self and injures Meng Hao himself, giving the technique both control and destructive effects. Its activation is visible and requires her breath: Meng Hao senses its danger, uses his defensive magic to survive, and prevents a second use by physically throwing her into the well before she can blow it again. (Chapters 816–817)

Seals, magic bottle, and the corpse

Fan Dong'er can combine numerous sealing marks into a magic bottle and can expand hundreds of magical-item imprints around her body for defense and attack. These methods let her contend with leading Chosen, but Han Qinglei's clone breaks through the bottle and demonstrates their limit against the Echelon. The corpse attached to her is not a normal controlled treasure. Fan Dong'er can hide its presence, yet severe mental disruption causes it to emerge on its own; its aura of death and exploding black hair can threaten even an Echelon cultivator, while Fan Dong'er herself cannot permanently dismiss it. The same independent bond ultimately saves her from death by dragging her into the void during the Mountain and Sea War. (Chapters 1096–1097 and 1589)
