Daoist Wu Sheng
Daoist Wu Sheng is the Solitary Sword Sect's Second Dao Lord and visiting representative at the Violet Furnace Lord trial.
Biography
Wu Sheng arrives at Eastern Emergence Mountain with senior representatives of the great sects and clans. He greets Pill Demon respectfully and remains outside the Mother of Furnaces while candidates undergo plant selection, refinement, and illusion. (Chapters 278–280)
When the sovereign furnace erupts, Pill Demon's projected finger suppresses it. Wu Sheng lowers his head, correctly reading the effortless intervention as a warning about the Grandmaster's realm. He then follows Meng Hao's increasingly extraordinary results without trying to intrude on the host sect's authority. (Chapters 282–286)
During discussion of the final illusion, Wu Sheng explains that remaining lucid is not automatically success: a participant may preserve apparent awareness while becoming permanently lost in the constructed life. He witnesses Meng Hao return, form a cauldron from a thousand consummate pills, and reveal himself as Grandmaster Pill Cauldron. (Chapters 291–292)
Appearance and personality
The source emphasizes rank and measured conduct rather than physical detail. Wu Sheng is solemn, diplomatically disciplined, and experienced enough to understand both alchemical trials and power displays.
