Crow Scout Grand Elder

Crow Scout Grand Elder is an early Nascent Soul leader of the Crow Scout Tribe and a senior member of Wu Ali’s bloodline. He begins by using his office to favor that kinsman, but Meng Hao’s wolves and later defense of the tribe force him to replace hostility with respect.

Biography

Favoring Wu Ali

The Grand Elder attends the neo-demon duel as a powerful backer of Wu Ali, whose aggression has grown under that protection. When Wu Ali’s mutated bat dies and the injury feeds back through its brand, the elder stabilizes his kinsman and glares at Meng Hao rather than accepting the result. He then supports Mo Fang’s attempt to claim Meng Hao’s wolves, using silence and institutional weight even when the Earth Priest insists that the actual nurturer must decide. (Chapters 400–403)

Meng Hao’s Demonic Qi causes branded neo-demons throughout the gathering to surge toward him. Even the Grand Elder’s own Greenwood Snake totem emerges against his will, proving that Meng Hao’s authority over demons exceeds the tribe’s usual taming hierarchy. When Big Hairy is revealed as the legendary white form associated with the ancestor of all Greenwood Wolves, the elder attempts to treat the wolf as a sacred tribal possession. He abandons that claim only after sensing that Meng Hao has a concealed horde capable of making seizure disastrous. (Chapters 404–405)

From proposed surrender to defense

The Crow Scout leaders later guard Meng Hao while he receives the Greenwood Tree brand. When an Outlander Beast attacks, the Grand Elder initially proposes surrendering the outsider whose presence brought the danger. Once the tribe commits to defense, however, he fights with the others and is wounded rather than deserting the formation. Meng Hao survives and the Parrot drives off the beast; afterward the Grand Elder gives him a rare formal bow. The respect comes from witnessed power and loyalty, not sudden affection. Recognition within the Five Tribes

At the Ancestor Rite, the Grand Elder’s view of Meng Hao changes from contempt to equality. He joins the attempt to rescue him when rival tribes coordinate an attack and later accompanies the Crow Scout leadership through the Holy Land. By the formation of the Five Tribe Alliance, the old office has been eclipsed by Meng Hao’s value: the alliance offers Meng Hao a Grand Elder position equal to its Greatfathers and food for thirty thousand neo-demons. The original Grand Elder’s arc thus charts a pragmatic surrender of status to the person who can preserve the tribes. (Chapters 418, 421, 427 and 436)

Appearance and personality

He is a gray-haired, middle-aged man covered in totem tattoos. Initially he is smiling toward allies and cold toward anyone threatening his bloodline’s advantage. Pride and nepotism shape his first decisions, but he is not incapable of correction. He backs away from an unwinnable seizure, participates in a defense he had questioned, and publicly bows when Meng Hao proves both strength and commitment.

Abilities and cultivation

Early Nascent Soul cultivation

The Grand Elder radiates power comparable to the early Nascent Soul stage, placing him below the mid-Nascent Soul Earth Priest but far above most duel participants. He can stabilize Wu Ali’s cultivation after branded backlash and contribute to defenses against an Outlander Beast. The supplied chapters do not show a named personal offensive art.

Greenwood Snake totem

His body bears totem tattoos, including a Greenwood Snake that can manifest outside him. Meng Hao’s Demonic Qi forces it to emerge and howl despite the elder’s authority, exposing a limit of the normal master–totem relationship when faced with a Demon Sealer’s attraction.

Tribal formations and command

As Grand Elder he helps organize cultivators, guard a dangerous branding, and support the tribe’s defensive response. This is collective formation work rather than proof that he alone creates the Greenwood Tree brand or controls the full Crow Scout inheritance.

Political authority

His office grants influence over bloodline contests, access to sacred decisions, and a voice beside the Greatfather and priests. That authority can shield a kinsman, but it is constrained by tribal law and eventually by the Five Tribes’ need for Meng Hao’s neo-demon power.
