Orc Lord's Glaive

The Orc Lord's Glaive is the first Rare-grade dungeon weapon Kang Shin obtains. Although built to favor slashing attacks, its size allows Shin to treat it as a spear, and it carries him from the Orc Lord encounters through the Dark Ratman fight before he replaces it with a weapon better suited to his level. History

From Orc Lord reward to Shin's first dungeon weapon

The glaive first appears as the only Rare item among the Orc Lord's selectable rewards. Shin initially continues pursuing elixirs, but when none appears and his wooden spear is nearly worn out, he chooses the glaive. Its vastly greater attack power immediately changes both his effectiveness and how other explorers view him, helping him secure a place in dungeon parties. (Chapters 6, 8)

Shin uses the glaive as both a thrusting spear and a heavy slashing weapon. It decapitates ordinary orcs, channels Tempest against ratmen, deflects lizardmen spears during a charge, and ultimately pierces the Dark Ratman through the chest and pins it to a wall. Peika can also infuse it through Spirit Aura, covering the weapon in lightning. (Chapters 9, 15, 20, 23, 27, 32)

By the time Shin reaches the Lizard Knight's rewards, he believes he has delayed replacing the glaive for too long and is “tormenting” it through continued use. He selects the Lizard Knight's Silver Spear as a level-appropriate replacement. The glaive is not shown being destroyed, transferred, or repurposed afterward, so its final disposition remains unknown; a later Ghost Orc Lord's glaive is a separate enemy weapon. Abilities and properties

• Rare-grade dungeon weapon: The glaive is the Orc Lord reward list's only Rare item and offers attack power far beyond Shin's worn wooden spear. It is large enough for him to handle as a spear despite its glaive construction. (Chapters 6, 8)
• Slashing and thrusting: Its design is stronger when used to slash, but Shin can still stab effectively with it. He uses both modes against orcs, ratmen, and lizardmen rather than treating it as a single-purpose polearm. (Chapters 9, 23, 27)
• Power compatibility: The weapon carries Shin's mana coating, Tempest, and Peika's lightning through Spirit Aura. These effects come from Shin's skills and elemental rather than from an innate glaive skill. (Chapters 15, 20, 32)
• No stated equipment bonus: Unlike the Silver Spear that replaces it, the glaive never receives an announced stat bonus or named intrinsic skill in the supplied corpus. Its documented advantages are its grade, attack power, reach, and suitability for Shin's fighting style. (Chapters 8–9, 37)
• Wear and retirement: It survives sustained use across several dungeon regions, but Shin's remark that he is tormenting it indicates that continued service is no longer appropriate. The text does not specify a final break, destruction, or transfer. (Chapter 37)
