Mike Dellon

Mike Dellon is a British S-rank ability user and water magician on Hwaya Eleni Mastiford's Field Dungeon team. He commands more than ten kinds of water magic, including defensive walls, large-scale current control, and levitation, while serving as a steady support combatant beside Paul Bacchus. (Chapters 90 and 94–100)

Biography

Windermere's Water Magician

Mike joins Hwaya's small British team because, in her assessment, he and Paul care about protecting their country rather than exploiting her fame. He welcomes the disguised Shin as another man on the team, intervenes when Hwaya and Shin appear to argue, and helps acclimate the newcomer before the Windermere Field Dungeon operation. His first major action there is to block a melting tuna's high-pressure stream with a wall of water, preventing an immediate hit on the group. (Chapters 90 and 94–95)

When Joshua Brightman's party complicates the lake battle, Mike continues supporting both groups. He completes Ocean Guidance under pressure to move Brightman's ship, levitates when the vessels capsize, and helps coordinate the rescue while the larger monsters and siren-like mental attack disrupt the formation. His spells cannot solve every emergency instantly—Ocean Guidance requires chanting and moving the distant ship proves difficult—but he survives through Shin's defeat of the giant melting tuna. The corpus does not follow Mike after the Windermere engagement. (Chapters 98–100)

Appearance and personality

Mike is described only as a man in his thirties. The supplied corpus gives no hair color, eye color, build, costume, or visible magical focus, and it does not distinguish a later combat appearance from his first introduction. (Chapter 90)

He is sociable, patriotic, and quick to welcome a new teammate. Mike praises Hwaya's contribution, advises Shin about Brightman, invites him to drink, and joins Paul in teasing both Shin and Hwaya. The humor does not keep him from responding to commands in combat, although his chanting and complaints under pressure show a conventional magician working against limited time rather than an effortless prodigy. (Chapters 90 and 94–100)

Powers and abilities

Mike is an S-rank magician with a broad water repertoire and a supporting specialization. His demonstrated magic protects the party, manipulates the lake around ships, and preserves his mobility, while casting time and environmental scale keep those tools from answering every sudden threat. (Chapters 90, 95, and 99)

Water magic

Mike can command more than ten forms of water magic. He creates a wall of water sturdy enough to collide with a melting tuna's pressurized stream, and Ocean Guidance lets him redirect rough lake water to draw a ship toward the team. The latter becomes harder over distance and against the ship's mass, and Mike needs time to finish its chant, so the spell is powerful environmental control rather than instantaneous telekinesis. (Chapters 90, 95, and 99)

Levitation and support

Mike can levitate himself above unstable water when the ships are overturned. This preserves his mobility while Paul and Shin enter the lake to rescue people, but no scene establishes that he can carry a large group, fly at high speed, or combine levitation with unrestricted rapid casting. His demonstrated role is defensive and logistical support; the corpus does not give him a named finishing attack or a solo victory over a Field Dungeon boss. (Chapter 99)

Relationships

  • Hwaya Eleni Mastiford: Hwaya selects Mike for her team because she trusts his motives and relies on his water magic during the Windermere operation. Mike respects her strength and joins the defense of Britain under her leadership. (Chapters 90 and 94–100)
  • Paul Bacchus: Paul is Mike's closest on-page teammate. They share accommodations, socialize together, trade jokes, and combine Paul's immediate shield work with Mike's slower magical support during the lake battle. (Chapters 90 and 94–99)
  • Kang Shin: Mike knows Shin through his Thunder Knight disguise and readily welcomes him into Hwaya's group. He advises, drinks with, and fights beside him, ending the battle relieved that Shin survived being swallowed by the giant melting tuna. (Chapters 90 and 94–100)

Items

No personal weapon, focus, armor, or other named item is assigned to Mike in the supplied corpus. His water wall, Ocean Guidance, and levitation are presented as magic he casts rather than effects tied to equipment. (Chapters 90, 95, and 99)
