Laz Michel

Laz Michel is France's SS-rank ability user, a veteran swordsman, and a later member of Revival. His physical reinforcement and disciplined sword control make him a dependable close-range combatant in the guild's global campaigns. (Chapters 163–165, 203–208, and 343)

Biography

Rescue and commitment to Revival

Michel is the sole surviving French ranker found inside Russia's ice Event Dungeon, frozen nearly to death after the other ability users become ice zombies. Once Ruyue and Palludia Gren Ehuir restore him, he identifies himself as a physical-reinforcement ability user, keeps the truth about Ina's loss of control discreet, and immediately joins the effort to defeat the dungeon boss. His careful bastard-sword strikes widen cracks in the giant ice armor and help create a path for Shin's finishing attack. (Chapters 163–165)

When Revival publicly reveals the dungeon and its conditions for appointing explorers, Michel asks whether the organization can resist abusing its power. Satisfied by Shin's answer and Soul Contract, he applies to join, becomes a First Dungeon explorer through Ina's appointment, and partners with healer Ilayda Van for dungeon progression. He states that he joined because he believes Revival can drive monsters from Earth, then repeatedly deploys in Event Dungeons, reclamation campaigns, and the defense against invading demons. (Chapters 203–208, 220–255, and 343)

Michel later accepts Shin's instruction in Peruta Circuit and remains among the guild members assembled for the final wave. The corpus does not place him in the small inner party that fights the Demon Lord directly, but it confirms that he is alive and active immediately before that confrontation. (Chapters 279 and 343)

Appearance and personality

Michel is a handsome middle-aged man with blond hair streaked white and grey eyes. He carries a broad, thick-bladed bastard sword that he can handle with unexpectedly delicate control. (Chapters 163–164)

He is courteous, mature, and candid about danger. Gratitude does not make him uncritical: before joining Revival he presses Shin on fairness, coercion, and the risk that a powerful group might put private benefit first. Once convinced, he commits without hesitation and offers steady encouragement to younger members. His admission that a world crisis makes him shake is caution rather than cowardice; he joins the operation anyway. (Chapters 163–165, 203–208, and 220)

Powers and abilities

Michel's innate ability physically reinforces his body, supporting strength, durability, and close-range combat. After being thawed, he can circulate his own mana to assist the healing process, then fight almost immediately. In the ice castle he strikes through a giant armor's frozen body and uses precise sword control to expand openings created by allied attacks. (Chapters 163–164 and 207)

He has trained in swordsmanship for most of his life and is later reevaluated at SS+ rank. Revival adds dungeon growth and Peruta Circuit instruction to that foundation, giving him a mana method intended to remain useful even if ordinary dungeon support fails. The corpus does not name a unique finishing move, quantify his reinforcement, or show whether he masters Peruta Circuit before the final battle. (Chapters 203–207, 246, and 279)

Relationships

  • Kang Shin: Shin saves Michel, fights beside him, answers his public challenge about Revival's ethics, and later teaches him Peruta Circuit. Michel responds with trust but retains the independent judgment that first made his support meaningful. (Chapters 163–165, 203–208, and 279)
  • Hwaya Eleni Mastiford: Hwaya participates in Michel's rescue, supports accepting him into Revival, and later leads operations in which he serves as a close-range fighter. She values him as sensible and capable of advising the guild. (Chapters 163–165 and 203–255)
  • Ilayda Van: Michel and the healer join Revival together and are assigned to climb the First Dungeon as partners. He understands her self-sacrificing tendencies and is asked to watch over her when she pushes herself too readily for others. (Chapters 203–208 and 224)
  • Leon Pepper: Michel and Leon are fellow national rankers who join Revival's campaign to reclaim monster-held territory. They repeatedly agree on the need to contribute rather than wait for the guild to solve their countries' crises. (Chapters 207–220 and 244–255)

Items

  • Bastard sword: Michel's broad one-handed sword and primary weapon. It survives his freezing in the Russian Event Dungeon and channels his physically reinforced, precision-focused swordsmanship. No individual name or rank is given. (Chapters 163–164)
  • Dungeon equipment: Michel acquires explorer gear after joining Revival, but the corpus does not separately name or describe those pieces. (Chapters 207–279)
