Boundless Infinitum Sword

The Boundless Infinitum Sword is the snow-white principal weapon of Shangguan Xue'er and a component of the Boundless Infinitum Set. Xue'er builds her unconventional cultivation path around this single sword, making its realized power inseparable from her sword intent and mastery.

History

A life devoted to the sword

Xue'er receives the sword as her first piece of Consolidated Equipment after awakening her Heavenly Jewels. She then refuses to Store Skills and instead studies the palace's sword arts before developing her own Dao of Swordsmanship. By the time she fights Zhou Weiqing, the three-chi blade is already treated as the greatest treasure's central weapon, and its mere point causes him pain through his Dragon-Tiger Transformation. During that duel, Xue'er uses the sword to pierce five layers of Consolidating Equipment God Protective Aura, dismantle hundreds of controlled lightning pearls with exact strikes, and draw the released Lightning Attribute energy into a return thrust. Her focus is so complete that Zhou sometimes perceives only the sword rather than its wielder. When he finally traps the blade and uses it to channel Devour, she voluntarily releases it rather than maim or kill him—the first time she has willingly let go of a weapon described as being like her own life. Weapon against superior cultivation

Xue'er later brings the sword to bear against a Heavenly King assassin. Her Body and Sword as One charge forces the assassin to defend, and in a later encounter her crystalline thrust makes him abandon an attack on Zhou because his instincts warn that ignoring it would be fatal. The assassin still throws her back through the difference in cultivation, but the sword buys the time needed to protect Zhou. (Chapters 197 and 201)

Abilities and properties

• God-set weapon: The blade is a piece of the eleven-part Boundless Infinitum Set and is rated on the same level as the God Spirit Staff. Even while the set is incomplete, its exceptionally high quality lets the sword retain a snow-white color instead of appearing wholly dark gold. (Chapters 184–185 and 221)
• Sword-intent focus: The weapon channels Xue'er's accumulated sword intent into piercing, sweeping, and Body and Sword as One attacks. Her simplest thrust can distort her opponent's sense of distance and conceal its precise target, while a concentrated point breaks multiple protective auras. These feats combine the sword's power with her personal training rather than arising from the weapon alone. (Chapter 184)
• Precision and energy redirection: Xue'er can strike the cores of hundreds of lightning pearls before they detonate, then draw the dispersed Lightning Attribute energy into the sword for her own next thrust. The sword also breaks the first use of Zhou's Flying Lightning God Technique, though a later use is harder for her to handle. (Chapters 184 and 190)
• Limits: Removing Xue'er's Consolidated Equipment would sharply reduce her combat strength, which is why she fears Dragon Silencing Seal. The sword also does not erase gaps in cultivation: a Heavenly King assassin can repel her direct clash despite treating the thrust as lethal if left unanswered. (Chapters 185, 197, and 201)
