Wu Yunyue

Wu Yunyue, also rendered Wu Yueyun, is the Demonic Emperor who leads the surviving Heavenly Demon Sect after its destruction by Blood Red Hell. His central decision is political rather than combative: he surrenders his own title and eventually the sect's historic name so its people can survive under Zhou Weiqing, then proves that alliance through repeated battles against the forces that ruined it.

Biography

Preserving a shattered Saint Land

Wu Yunyue reaches the Heavenly Bow Empire after Blood Red Hell's surprise attack destroys the Heavenly Demon Sect headquarters. Fewer than one third of its members escape, and Wu suffers severe injuries during the battle and flight. As long as a Heavenly Emperor and surviving Heavenly Kings remain, the sect still has military value, but it lacks a secure base and cannot withstand another concentrated attack. Wu therefore approaches Zhou with an extraordinary proposal: Zhou should replace him as Sect Master, rebuild the Saint Land, and eventually pass it to a child born with Wu's daughter Wu Yuehan. (Chapters 267–268)

The offer combines paternal, dynastic, and institutional motives. Zhou has a first-generation Demonic Attribute, a relationship with Yuehan, his own state, and growth fast enough to challenge Heavenly Emperors while still in his early twenties. Other Great Saint Lands would absorb or erase the weakened sect, whereas Zhou needs high-end defenders and does not yet have an established Saint Land hierarchy. Wu openly promises to serve as assistant and obey Zhou's orders, calculating that surrendering present authority is the best chance to preserve both his people and his bloodline's future. Zhou accepts only if the Heavenly Demon Sect changes its name to escape the fear and stigma attached to “Demon.” Wu initially refuses: the name embodies generations of history, recognition, and responsibility to surviving members. He nevertheless leaves Yuehan as liaison and asks Zhou to treat her well while he consults the sect. This hesitation establishes that his later consent is not casual self-interest but a deliberate sacrifice of identity. (Chapter 268)

Trust forged against Blood Red Hell

Before the renaming is settled, Blood Red Hell arrives to finish the survivors. Wu restrains his hatred and allows Zhou to represent their side in a deceptive challenge structure, even though he does not understand the younger man's full plan. When Long Shiya drives an enemy Grand Elder into position, Wu enters Demonic Change, releases his complete Legendary Set, and strikes with the Heavenly Demon Blade. The staged contest turns into an ambush that kills or cripples several attackers, but Wu's old wounds worsen and the remaining enemy formation still appears superior. Refusing to flee again, he resolves to detonate his own Heavenly Core Nucleus rather than endure another extermination. (Chapters 268–270)

Zhou's Astral Saint Energy overturns the crisis by suppressing Destruction Energy and restoring allied strength. Wu abandons self-destruction, joins Long Shiya in the renewed assault, and sees the surviving Blood Red Hell force eliminated. The experience corrects his remaining uncertainty: Zhou's plan, energy, and growth provide a future the Heavenly Demon Sect cannot create alone. Wu protects the following breakthroughs, orders his Heavenly Kings to withdraw to safety, and concludes that transferring the sect is the right decision. (Chapters 270 and 761–762)

Founding the Peerless Sect

After consulting the survivors, Wu confirms their agreement to Zhou's leadership. He accepts the new name Peerless Sect, asks to serve as deputy leader, and promises the roster and obedience of every surviving member. The decision pains him because it formally ends the Heavenly Demon Sect, but Zhou's plan preserves its practitioners, grants them a national base, and gives Yuehan equal standing among his future wives. In public Wu will call Zhou Sect Master; in private their father-in-law relationship keeps the transfer from becoming complete personal dispossession. (Chapters 763–764)

Wu then helps anchor the new Saint Land. Zhou's Saint Energy heals his longstanding injuries and moves him to the threshold of the Heavenly God Tier, though it cannot carry him across as it does Long Shiya. Wu and the former Heavenly Demon Sect's Heavenly Kings guard Zhou during Duan Tianlang's dangerous void consolidation. When assassins attack, Wu stays beside the immobile Zhou rather than chasing the visible enemies, sends subordinates to recover the Shangguan sisters, and treats protecting the Peerless Sect's core as his overriding responsibility. Fighting as deputy rather than master

At the Grand Tournament of Saint Lands, Wu publicly rejects Fen Tian's taunt that he has lost his sect. He states that the Heavenly Demon Sect no longer exists, Zhou is the true Peerless Sect leader, and he is only deputy. That declaration turns the private succession into an acknowledged political fact and gives the new Saint Land the legitimacy of an established Maximum Level Heavenly Emperor. (Chapters 805–806 and 812)

Wu volunteers for the tournament's opening cycle to release years of resentment toward the Saint Lands that marginalized his people and the Blood Red Hell that slaughtered them. He easily defeats a Heavenly King, kills a Love Valley Heavenly Emperor after the opponent secretly uses Destruction Energy, and then overwhelms and tears apart a Blood Red Hell Heavenly Emperor. His three consecutive victories make Peerless Sect the early leader, but vengeance pushes him to spend energy recklessly. When he asks to continue, Zhou orders him back. Wu does not understand the larger tournament strategy, yet takes a breath and obeys—an important demonstration that the former Sect Master now accepts another leader's command even at the height of personal rage. During the breakdown of tournament rules, Fen Tian sends Wu flying with a palm strike and makes him spit blood. Wu survives and remains with the allied leaders while Zhou confronts Fen Tian. His latest appearance finds him watching that decisive battle beside the other surviving Saint Land authorities, proof that his transfer of the sect has carried both him and his people through the war that once seemed certain to erase them. Appearance and personality

Wu Yunyue is a tall old man who appears about sixty. He wears black, carries a commanding and dignified air, and radiates an underlying coldness. His long dark hair reaches his shoulders. Demonic Change makes his body swell, turns his eyes blood-red, and changes his hair to a horrifying grey, replacing stately restraint with the visual presence of the Demonic Emperor title. He is proud, calculating, protective of his sect, and capable of separating personal loss from institutional survival. Wu can bargain with striking candor and accept subordinate status, yet historic identity and dignity still matter enough to make renaming painful. In battle his restraint gives way to ferocity, especially against Blood Red Hell; revenge can push him toward self-destruction or excessive energy expenditure. His growth is therefore an acceptance that survival sometimes requires trusting Zhou's broader judgment over his own wounded pride. (Chapters 268–270, 762–764, and 805–817)

Abilities and cultivation

Wu is a Maximum Level Heavenly Emperor whose power stands only a fine line below Long Shiya's before the latter becomes a Heavenly God. He possesses the Demonic, Darkness, and Life Attributes central to the Heavenly Demon Sect. After earlier injuries are healed by Zhou's Saint Energy, he moves close to the Heavenly God threshold but cannot complete the breakthrough. The corpus does not show him advancing beyond Maximum Level Heavenly Emperor. (Chapters 267–270, 795, 808, and 812)

Demonic Change and Evil energy

Demonic Change explosively enlarges Wu's body, physical capabilities, perception, and combat pressure. In this state his grey Evil energy combines the corrosive force of the Demonic and Darkness aspects with Life Attribute support. He can cut through Time Disorder by sensing a narrow opening and overpower a mid-level Heavenly Emperor in a direct weapon clash. The transformation grants no immunity to attrition: maintaining it through consecutive full-force fights drains even his Maximum Level reserves. (Chapters 269 and 808–811)

Demonic Emperor Set and sword

Wu's nine-piece grey-crystal Demonic Emperor Set is the inherited Legendary Set of past Demonic Emperors and ranks at the top among nine-piece sets. Its weapon is variously called the Heavenly Demon Blade or Demonic Emperor Sword; the later description likens its form and energy to an imitation of the Demon God Sword. With the set active, Wu can concentrate his full attributes into direct slashes powerful enough to kill Heavenly Emperor opponents, but his sword method is described as somewhat outdated and relies on experience and overwhelming cultivation to compensate. Blue Rain Hibiscus and Life Protection

Wu's Life Attribute defense manifests as Life Protection, a dense dark-blue aura that blooms into the Blue Rain Hibiscus. The flower shields his body while its many rays rotate outward as a counterattack, letting defense and offense occur together. Pure Destruction Energy can erode it rapidly. Zhou's Saint Energy inside Wu is therefore crucial: it lets him resist Destruction long enough to flick aside a supposedly fatal sword with one finger and counter-slash. The deflection still swells the finger and temporarily prevents its use, showing that resistance does not eliminate physical cost. (Chapters 808–809)

Saint Energy support and combat limits

Saint Energy heals Wu's old wounds, replenishes him between tournament rounds, strengthens his resistance to Destruction, and briefly elevates allied output through Astral feedback. It is borrowed support rather than a new Attribute he produces himself. Without it, Wu judges that he must evade concentrated Destruction rather than block it, and fused Destruction attacks from multiple Blood Red Hell powerhouses can overwhelm him while injured. His other limit is emotional: hatred makes him favor lethal frontal pressure and ignore conservation until Zhou withdraws him. (Chapters 270, 761–762, 795, and 808–811)

Relationships

• Zhou Weiqing: Wu first views Zhou as the best vehicle for his sect's survival, then accepts him as Sect Master and son-in-law after witnessing his strategy and Saint Energy. Their alliance trades Wu's surviving institution and high-end strength for protection, renewal, and a future heir.
• Wu Yuehan: Yuehan is Wu's daughter and a central part of his succession plan. He wants her happiness as well as a descendant who can inherit the sect's legacy, and Zhou's promise to marry her on equal terms helps him accept the Peerless transition.
• Long Shiya: Wu and Long fight as the alliance's paired Heavenly Emperors, protect Zhou's breakthroughs, and later anchor the Peerless Sect together. Wu envies Long's discipleship and eventual Heavenly God breakthrough but cooperates without allowing that envy to damage their common purpose.
• Fen Tian: Fen Tian leads the force that destroys Wu's sect and becomes the focus of his hatred. Wu kills Blood Red Hell subordinates in retaliation but remains unable to confront Fen Tian evenly; Fen Tian later knocks him aside before Zhou assumes the decisive battle.
