Green Wolf

Green Wolf is a stout company leader of the Ruffian Battalion who first meets Zhou Weiqing as an aggressive challenger at the Sixteenth Regiment's duelling corner. Initially skeptical of Zhou's authority and promises, he becomes one of the first officers to offer the reorganized Peerless Battalion wholehearted loyalty. His later near-fatal defense of the unit against Sixteenth Regiment commanders demonstrates both his substantial cultivation growth and his commitment to the battalion.

Biography

The duelling-corner challenge

Green Wolf enters a strength contest after watching Zhou defeat Sixteenth Regiment fighters. Although he presents the bout as a direct comparison of power, he tries to exploit the rules and attack with his full close-combat skill. Zhou's raw kick still sends him flying. Green Wolf recognizes the gap, stops escalating the confrontation, and leaves with direct knowledge that the apparent novice is much more dangerous than he looks. (Chapters 120–121)

The encounter acquires new importance when Zhou is transferred to the Ruffian Battalion. Green Wolf is one of ten men standing before the assembled troops and immediately recognizes the new commander, quietly warning the battalion's senior figure about what he witnessed. From mockery to allegiance

Green Wolf openly mocks Zhou's first attempt to redefine the Ruffian Battalion, treating talk of change as empty rhetoric. Green Wolf is a tall, stout man weighing about two hundred jin. His first appearance emphasizes a physically imposing body and an aggressive, ferocious bearing suited to close combat. He is combative, irreverent, and initially opportunistic: he provokes a stranger, bends the spirit of a contest, and mocks official speeches.
