Arabelle Remore is a gold-rank healer, therapist and Remore family matriarch whose work joins magical medicine with long-term psychological care. Mother of Rufus Remore and wife of Gabriel Remore, she becomes one of the few people trusted to confront Jason Asano's trauma directly. Biography

Yaresh and the messenger war

Arabelle enters the Yaresh crisis with intertwined obligations to family, church and damaged adventurers. She travels with Rufus to a royal gathering, quietly contains Callum Morse's agitation over Jason's prisoner and postpones the real conversation until privacy will make it useful rather than explosive. The decision typifies her authority: she does not suppress difficult motives or indulge them in public, but creates conditions where loyalty, fear and obsession can be examined without turning a vulnerable person into the object of another conflict. When worm-infested communities are evacuated, Arabelle makes Jason's cloud palace function as a treatment centre and prepares for the trauma that physical magic cannot erase. She works with the Church of the Healer while managing its distrust of Jason, recognising that survivors will remember their families' bodies being used as horrors long after wounds close. Her contribution is therefore both operational and clinical: she protects access to an unusually useful facility while reserving space and authority for the slow recovery that begins after the emergency. The underground war forces Arabelle to unite healer and adventurer. She drains enemies to fill reservoirs of life force and mana, then spends them on mass healing and crippling medical maledictions. When Gary accepts a divine sacrifice that cannot simply be healed away, she responds to the limit of her profession by setting recording crystals around his last battle. She cannot save him, so she chooses to preserve what he does, then accepts Gabriel's correction that Gary most wants remembrance as a friend rather than elevation into a distant legend. The cosmic road and the System transition

Inside the unstable territories surrounding the soul forge, Arabelle applies clinical judgement to forms of magical corruption no ordinary healer has studied. She tracks how repeated territory claims increase Gabriel's anger and paranoia, identifies a dangerous threshold and observes that star seeds mitigate the influence for Builder cultists. When others question whether Jason is similarly compromised, she distinguishes supernatural influence from behaviour produced by extreme circumstances, using her knowledge of his long recovery rather than either fear or blind loyalty. Her counsel to Miriam Vance shows how that trust was earned. Arabelle explains that she devoted the previous year to restoring a fractured Jason and treats his apparently frivolous escape from a godlike state as proof that his compassionate, absurd core survived. She then notices that Miriam's exhausted suspicion has crossed into paranoid reasoning. Rather than merely winning the argument, Arabelle invokes her authority as expedition mental-health lead and orders a week of rest, protecting both Miriam and everyone dependent on her decisions. Arabelle later spends years inside Jason's reshaping soul realm with Gabriel, Carlos Quilido, Melody and other victims of the Order of Redeeming Light. She continues therapeutic work while an entire universe forms around them, helping people whose minds were manipulated adapt to freedom rather than treating release from control as an endpoint. Her calm participation in naming Arbour and witnessing the transition reflects how her role has expanded: she remains a healer even when the environment of care is an emerging astral kingdom. Appearance and personality

Arabelle has very dark skin and long hair dyed in rainbow colours in the fashion of Vitesse. Her gold-rank advancement gives her the polished appearance and physical capabilities of a senior essence user, while her combat presentation is marked by flight and enormous urn-like vessels filled with red life force or blue mana. In ordinary settings, the vivid hair contrasts with a professional manner that can become unmistakably maternal. (Chapters 145, 756)

She is observant, composed and direct without being emotionally cold. Arabelle lets people speak until she can identify the pressure beneath their behaviour, then uses authority decisively when health is at risk. She accepts Jason's humour as part defence and part authentic identity, neither humouring every evasion nor trying to strip away the personality that helped him survive. With Rufus and Gabriel, stern concern coexists with affectionate exasperation and a willingness to share grief honestly. (Chapters 190, 655, 822)

Healing and stored-resource economy

Arabelle's combat healing is built around large floating urns that store life force and mana. Enemies approaching her can have both resources pulled into the vessels, which she then spends in large quantities to heal many allies at once. The system makes prolonged, crowded battles favour her because every attacker can become fuel, but the reserve must first be accumulated and can be exhausted. Isolating her from viable targets or forcing heavy expenditure faster than replenishment would diminish the engine that makes her unusually strong late in a battle. (Chapters 189, 756)

Her healing is potent enough to revive Rufus from catastrophic battle injuries and maintain an expedition under continuous attrition. It remains medical power rather than unlimited reversal of consequences. Some complex injuries need ritual treatment, psychological trauma cannot be removed by a spell and Gary's divine sacrifice carries a debt that healing cannot cancel. Arabelle's expertise includes recognising those boundaries early, choosing when to restore a body, when to preserve a memory and when recovery requires months or years of cooperative work. Medical maledictions and team interactions

Arabelle can spend stored energy offensively through toxins, diseases and other medical maledictions. Elemental messenger bodies should be immune to such afflictions, yet her powers bypass enough of that protection to impose crippling effects. She is not a dedicated affliction specialist and keeps only a small number of these grim abilities as decisive tools. Jason expands their impact by draining her toxins and diseases from victims, converting them into transcendent damage; the combination depends on his follow-through rather than granting Arabelle the same finisher mechanics herself. Mental-health practice

Arabelle's Church of the Healer speciality is mental health, especially trauma. Her method is not magical erasure. She observes aura and behaviour, creates privacy, asks questions that let patients encounter difficult memories safely and separates ordinary distress from external spiritual influence. She collaborates with Carlos on star-seed survivors and with other carers on indoctrination victims, recognising that even magically durable minds can defer rather than avoid injury. The work depends on trust, time and patient participation, which is why she treats rest, boundaries and continuing care as clinical interventions rather than optional comforts. Her authority also has operational value. Arabelle can recognise when a commander is too exhausted to judge rationally and order removal from duty, but she must still persuade people or invoke an institution they respect. She cannot force genuine psychological recovery through rank alone. Her success with Jason similarly comes from sustained familiarity: she knows his façades, values and injuries well enough to distinguish a dangerous change from the same difficult personality responding to impossible conditions. Aura perception and adventurer combat

Arabelle has unusually sensitive aura senses, detecting Jason through suppression and reading subtle changes in spiritually affected people. In direct combat she floats, drains nearby enemies and combines white magic with Gabriel's attacks to collapse undead bodies. Her earlier adventuring style also uses touch-based withering and stored life force, allowing her to move between support and offence. These abilities make her dangerous when approached, but her strongest contribution remains controlling the health economy of a group rather than pursuing isolated targets. Relationships

• Rufus Remore: Rufus is Arabelle's son and one of the anchors of her family responsibilities. She heals him after near-fatal recklessness, rebukes the choice and supports the grieving companions he brings into the family orbit. Her concern is not an attempt to keep him from adventuring; it is the insistence that courage does not excuse throwing away a life others love. (Chapters 145, 190, 594)
• Jason Asano: Jason first matters to Arabelle as the stranger who saved Rufus, then becomes her most demanding long-term patient. She owes him gratitude but does not let that become uncritical loyalty. By learning the difference between his performances, wounds and enduring values, she becomes one of the few people able to defend his judgement and order intervention when his behaviour—or someone else's response to it—becomes unsafe. • Carlos Quilido: Carlos is Arabelle's clinical collaborator in soul trauma, star seeds and magical indoctrination. She brings him to Jason when specialised help is needed, and their later work inside the soul realm treats people whose freedom depends on more than removing a magical influence. • Farrah Hurin: Arabelle travels with Farrah's grieving parents and later works beside Farrah in Jason's circle. • Miriam Vance: Miriam initially seeks assurance that Jason's hidden motives will not betray the expedition. By Chapter 987, Arabelle is alive and practising on Earth.
