Command under cosmic pressure
Miriam accepts operational command while Jason holds nominal authority, scheduling high-rank forces and demanding answers about his messenger prisoners and hidden agenda. Her concern is grounded in years defending Yaresh, yet continuous responsibility and hatred of the messengers narrow her judgement. Arabelle finally identifies the exhaustion driving her paranoia and orders rest; Miriam chooses to obey the healer, preserving both her command and the expedition from decisions made past her limits. Skills and limitations
Miriam is an experienced gold-rank leader able to coordinate adventurers across unstable magical territories. She has the institutional authority and endurance to manage prolonged deployment, but not immunity to fatigue, trauma or bias. Her strongest corrective is professional discipline: when reminded that Allayeth would expect her to follow medical advice, she accepts removal from duty. (Chapter 822)
