Oliver White is a s- ranker and former Curse mage whose direct role extends from Chapter 71 to Chapter 85.
Biography
Role in the story
Fled when a Wraith attacked his guild six years earlier, leaving David behind; lived under the guilt while rising from C to S- Ranker (chapters 78, 82). Recognizes the renewed curse pattern, conceals facts from Sarah, then tells Brandon and tries to stop the Wraith-possessed David (chapters 75-83). Uses a Binding Vow/final requiem to atone and does not return from the Everglade confrontation (chapters 83-85). (Chapters 71–85)
Appearance and personality
Twenty-five, gray hair, black eyes, glasses, youthful appearance (chapter 71). Secretive, guilty, defensive, ultimately self-sacrificing.
Magic and abilities
- Curse-affinity mage; forms a Zone, cursed flames/rings, and a Binding Vow. The Zone provides a temporary advantage but is shown nearing collapse (chapters 76, 82-83).
