Jirl

Jirl is an elven shield warrior who serves Yu IlHan from the dragon war in Dareu through the conflicts among the higher factions. He is the durable front-line member of the four elite elves.

Biography

The four chosen elves

Jirl leaves Dareu with Yu IlHan as a level-85 shield warrior. Yu IlHan equips him with layered leather, dragon-bone, and dragon-scale armor, then puts the four elves through harsh hunting and dismantling training. Jirl’s eagerness and boasting make him the group’s loudest member, but he repeatedly returns from the front lines bloodied rather than abandoning his position. (Chapters 102, 107–109, and 116)

Battles across worlds

In the Battle of Competition, Jirl and Mirey anchor the formation while Phiria scouts, Paté controls enemies at range, and Kang MiRae prepares large-scale magic. After Phiria’s death, he remains among the elves rescued from the Garden of Sunset’s scheme and receives renewed equipment before returning to active service. (Chapters 139, 229–233)

Jirl later accompanies Yu IlHan away from Dareu, then returns as a commander aboard the Guardian Fortress. By the formation of Dragon’s Nest he is counted among its higher existences and participates in the battles leading toward Heaven. (Chapters 256, 284, 316, and 325)

Family after the war

After the final conflict, Jirl and Mirey have a son named Hessian. Later material continues to show Jirl among the elves gathered around Yu IlHan’s household. (Extra Chapter 3; Chapter 366)

Appearance and personality

Jirl is the most muscular of the four chosen elves. He is cheerful, outspoken, and prone to jokes that earn immediate correction from his companions. Beneath that levity he is loyal and confident, readily promising Mirfa that he will protect Yu IlHan. (Chapters 162, 256)

Abilities and classes

Shield discipline and formation defense

Jirl specializes in using a shield to hold the front of a party. He intercepts enemies that would otherwise reach Paté, Phiria, or a large-scale mage, controls the immediate space around his allies, and keeps fighting after taking the damage associated with that position. In the Battle of Competition he and Mirey form the durable core around which the group’s ranged and magical attacks can operate. His defense reduces pressure rather than making the formation invulnerable; he repeatedly returns bloodied, and stronger enemies still require the whole team’s support. (Chapters 102, 116, and 139)

Dragon equipment and physical conditioning

Yu IlHan’s layered leather, dragon-bone, and dragon-scale armor gives Jirl protection appropriate to a dedicated tank without sacrificing the speed needed to reach an ally. The equipment enhances a trained role rather than replacing it: Jirl must position the shield, accept impacts, and continue moving under its weight. Yu IlHan’s harsh hunting and dismantling routine develops the stamina and practical monster knowledge needed to use that protection across unfamiliar worlds. Because these benefits depend partly on supplied equipment, they should not be mistaken for innate elven armor or a named defensive spell. (Chapters 107–109 and 116)

Higher-existence advancement

Jirl eventually ascends within Dragon’s Nest and can participate in battles between higher factions. The advancement increases his general mana and physical scale while preserving his identity as a front-line protector and commander. The corpus does not give him a separately named post-ascension class or signature higher skill, so his latest demonstrated capability remains reinforced shield work performed at a higher-existence level. (Chapters 284, 316, and 325)
