Roy
Roy is a dark elf born in Randalph Brigsiel's dungeon, Rose's twin brother, and a later leader among Korea's survivors. He remains alive among Randalph's principal subordinates in Chapter 229. Initially timid and dependent on Rose, he develops into a front-line observer, spokesman, and prophet whose reports and public authority help protect Seoul.
Biography
A timid twin given a shared power
Randalph names the newborn boy Roy and his sister Rose, a gesture the dark elves interpret as evidence that their master values their children rather than treating the village as expendable property. Accelerated dungeon growth soon brings the twins into Gaparam's research. They learn Twin's Mental Rapport, gain ability from the successful skill, and connect their telepathy to M3's reconstructed core. The link lets them control a completed artificial golem and makes their paired learning valuable to the dungeon even while Roy remains shy and reluctant to speak. (Chapters 57–60, 90–93, 122, and 145)
On his first journey outside the dungeon, Roy stays close to Randalph while Rose explores and addresses the refugees. Randalph later orders him to remain with the Awakened during an attack on Pandemonium's dungeon because Roy can act as a remote observer. Although separation from Rose nearly makes him cry, he obeys. Randalph subsequently pours magic into a crystal ball and sees Roy's surroundings, validating the tactical purpose of the assignment and turning the timid child's presence into direct battlefield intelligence. (Chapters 145–151 and 164)
Front-line test and public authority
Roy fights on the raid's front line, accumulates injuries, and emerges with a newly reliable expression. When the girin asks him to go where human willpower is insufficient, Roy hesitates until he can obtain Randalph's consent. Randalph responds by sending Rose and the Eselal Blade, a sword meant to prove Roy's worth. This combination of responsibility, his twin's support, and a symbolic weapon helps move him from passive observer toward a figure capable of standing before the Awakened. (Chapter 164)
The twins then become the centre of Korean public life as survivors divide between those who follow them and those who do not. Roy distributes dungeon cores, explains dangerous creatures to guild leaders, and helps organize the planting of the Trees of Life and Death. His speech retains traces of nervousness, but the narration explicitly contrasts his solemn composure with his earlier cowardice. Because the settlement trusts the Saviour's children, Roy's practical decisions stabilize Seoul and give Randalph a way to guide the humans without ruling them openly. (Chapters 168–177)
Prophet of Seoul and continuing subordinate
Randalph later uses Roy's influence to deliver a prophecy that creatures will emerge and that people must gather near the two trees. Roy publicly announces the warning, and the population moves because only the girin and the Saviour possess greater influence. The prophecy is therefore an operational message supplied by Randalph rather than independent foresight, but Roy's credibility makes it effective and protects the survivors during the planned dungeon restructuring. His and Rose's positions remain stable afterward while candidates for a human king begin to emerge. (Chapters 181–189)
Roy's later appearances are quieter but confirm continuity. He and Rose are known to use trusted people in a search, and the two retain extraordinary standing as the Saviour's children. His latest direct placement is among Randalph's principal subordinates in Chapter 229, where he survives to react to his master's next declaration alongside his sister and the senior dungeon forces. (Chapters 181–189 and 229)
Appearance and personality
Roy is a male dark elf who grows rapidly from infancy into a small boy. He is repeatedly shown beside his twin, initially with his head bowed, hesitant speech, and a face close to tears. After the dungeon raid, wounds cover his body but his expression has become reliable; later he stands armed beside the girin when addressing Korea's guild leaders. (Chapters 57–60, 145–151, 164, and 176)
He begins timid, emotionally dependent on Rose, and uncomfortable with attention. Roy is nevertheless obedient, observant, and conscientious enough to ask for Randalph's consent before accepting a dangerous role. Experience converts fear into measured composure rather than Rose's flamboyance: he explains risks, makes formal proposals, and carries a public warning solemnly while still showing occasional nerves. This gradual improvement is why both Randalph and Chrisley ultimately describe him as trustworthy. (Chapters 145–181)
Abilities and powers
Twin's Mental Rapport
Roy shares Twin's Mental Rapport with Rose. The telepathic skill raises their abilities, supports unusually fast paired learning, and lets their awareness serve tasks beyond direct conversation. Randalph uses Roy's position to view a distant raid through a crystal ball, while the twins later respond together to remote guidance during the tree ceremony. Its demonstrated strength comes from connection and coordination; the corpus does not establish either twin using it as mind control or unrestricted communication with unrelated people. (Chapters 122, 145, 151, 164, and 176)
M3 control and battlefield observation
Gaparam integrates the twins' telepathy into M3's four-core system, producing a named “Roy and Rose” function that lets them operate the artificial golem. Roy helps control it during its early battles, though Rose becomes the more visible later operator. Independently, Roy serves as Randalph's observer inside a human raid: the position allows the Dungeon Master to inspect the battle remotely, but it also leaves Roy exposed to front-line injury and dependent on allied protection until his confidence grows. (Chapters 145–151 and 164)
Leadership and armed service
Roy fights on the front line, carries the Eselal Blade, distributes cores, briefs guild leaders, and presides with Rose over the Trees of Life and Death ceremony. The sword is described as proving his worth, while his public title of prophet arises when he broadcasts Randalph's warning rather than from a named precognitive skill. His leadership is therefore practical and reputational: he converts trusted information into coordinated human action, but still relies on Randalph, Chrisley, the girin, and Rose for strategy and support. (Chapters 164–183)
Relationships
- Rose: His twin and telepathic partner. Her severity pressures him to grow, while her return during his first major independent mission gives him essential support.
- Randalph Brigsiel: Randalph names him, uses him as a battlefield observer, arms him, and later entrusts him with influencing and protecting Korea's survivors.
- Chrisley: She helps supervise Roy's public work and later judges him trustworthy; the twins in turn help her recover emotionally after Krasla's death.
- Gaparam: Gaparam teaches and studies the twins, then integrates their telepathy with M3 so they can control the golem.
- Yoo Eun-hye: Roy accompanies her side during the dungeon raid and later holds enough public influence to move the wider Korean population.
Items
- Eselal Blade: Randalph sends this magic sword to Roy as a test and symbol of his worth. The blade absorbs magic power and can amplify effects according to its user's ability.
- M3: Roy and Rose jointly control the artificial golem through telepathy, although Rose is its more prominent operator in later scenes.
- Trees of Life and Death seeds: Roy presents the two seeds to Korea's guild leaders and joins Rose in the restricted ceremony that plants them; they are a mission resource rather than his personal property.
