Quan Ch

Quan Ch is a half-elf crawler who builds his leaderboard position through boss theft, train sabotage, and player killing. His flight equipment, shield, and Disrupter attacks make him difficult to catch until Carl's coalition traps and kills him during the eighth-floor key crisis. (Chapters 72, 89, 113, 140, 279)

Biography

The Circus and the Iron Tangle

Quan first responds to Carl's floor-wide actions with abuse, then begins destroying trains to farm drivers even though the resulting shutdown strands other crawlers. He also steals boss credit from Prepotente and Miriam, building levels and stars by attacking at the last moment rather than accepting the risk of the full fight. The strategy raises his profile while making enemies across the crawler network. (Chapters 72, 89, 109)

The Gate of the Feral Gods

On the fifth floor, Quan repeats the pattern by waking a province boss after Prepotente's debuff stack, taking enough damage credit to claim the result, and escaping. Carl later confronts him and confirms that his shield and robe make pursuit difficult, but also sees that Quan runs whenever those defenses might not hold. (Chapters 113, 140–141)

The Hunting Grounds and the Masquerade

Quan changes from Imperial Security Trooper to one-armed Sergeant-at-Arms and remains in the top ten despite his reputation. His player-killer history and conflict with other attendees make him one of the dangers expected at the Masquerade, though he survives into the next floor rather than being resolved there. (Chapters 152, 207)

The Eighth Floor and Bedlam

Quan pursues key holders and intends to kill Sister Ines for an exit key. Carl, Donut, and other crawlers intercept him; the battle ends with Quan dead and Donut receiving credit for a champion bounty. His more than sixty player-killer skulls confirm that the predatory tactics had expanded far beyond opportunistic boss theft. (Chapters 274, 279)

Faction Wars at Larracos

After Quan's death, Donut inherits his cloak, but its mechanics require planning before she can safely wear it. References to Quan during Faction Wars measure later anger and danger against a previous enemy; they do not indicate his return. (Chapters 298–299, 327)

The Parade of Horribles

The troublesome sock Carl originally obtained from Quan later contributes to Dong's crisis, extending the consequences of Quan's loot beyond his death. Quan himself remains deceased. (Chapter 454)

Appearance and personality

Quan is a pale half-elf who loses one arm before taking the Sergeant-at-Arms class. He is calculating, resentful, and risk-averse despite his high kill count, preferring targets whose defenses or fights have already been weakened. (Chapters 140, 152, 274)

Skills, class, and abilities

Quan uses a robe that provides flight and a strong Shield, plus a short-ranged blue Disrupter bolt with splash damage and stun potential. His level-scaled shield can absorb extreme punishment, but it likely has a cooldown and does not protect him once coordinated opponents pin him down. Sergeant-at-Arms replaces his earlier Imperial Security Trooper class, but no complete skill progression is supplied. (Chapters 113, 140, 152, 279)

Relationships

  • Prepotente: Quan repeatedly steals or disrupts Prepotente's boss fights, earning the goat's lasting hostility. (Chapters 109, 113)
  • Carl and Donut: Quan antagonizes them, survives an earlier confrontation, and is finally killed during their plan to protect key holders. (Chapters 72, 140–141, 274–279)
  • Sister Ines: Quan targets her for the key needed to exit, making her rescue the immediate pressure behind the final ambush. (Chapter 274)

Items

Quan has no planned inventory-item links. His flight-and-shield cloak passes to Donut after his death, while the sock later carried by Dong also originates in Quan's loot. (Chapters 285, 298, 454)
