Biography

Investigation, stolen technique, and last defense

Zhang Tingyue treats Zhang Sheng'an as his own son and refuses to accept the Clay Giant as a sufficient explanation for his death. He studies the battle site, recognizes traces of other combatants, probes Su Chen through questioning and a consciousness specialist, and coordinates the other bereaved clans. Su then offers the bloodline-less Blood Boiling technique as a supposed price for survival. Zhang accepts the bargain for the coalition and helps arrange the secret removal and copying of Kaihuang's Heaven, believing the discovery outweighs immediate revenge. (Chapters 239–246)

The theft is staged to make Zhang's group collide with Zhu Xianyao's party. Once Uncle Eleven reveals Light Shaking power, Zhang shifts from confidence to survival and organizes the coalition's strongest resistance. He identifies Zhu Xianyao as the enemy's weak point and imprisons her with brambles, forcing Uncle Eleven to spend heavily to free her. Mortally struck, Zhang uses his final action to bind her again even as Uncle Eleven crushes his head. He dies smiling because the restraint may still preserve his allies' chance to win. Appearance and personality

Zhang Tingyue is a mature man with a neatly shaved mustache. He often holds his hands behind his back and presents a controlled elder's bearing. The corpus does not establish his build, clothing, or other facial features. (Chapters 239–240)

He is observant, patient, politically cautious, and deeply invested in his nephew. Unlike more impulsive allies, he knows the Hidden Dragon Institute requires evidence and tries to manage negotiations. Ambition and clan interest still lead him into Su's trap, but his final battle shows tactical judgment and willingness to die for the coalition rather than personal escape. (Chapters 239–250)

Abilities and cultivation

Zhang is a Light Shaking Realm cultivator with a Treedemon bloodline. His Verdantwood Palms and Tangling Brambles Hands generate vegetation and thistles that bind groups, create barriers, and form a prison whose persistence makes the caster an important target. He also inflicts Verdantwood Poison. These arts excel at restriction, crowd control, endurance, and defensive warfare rather than sudden armor penetration. (Chapters 246–251)

His Jade Luster Body gives his body a jade sheen, increases life force, and supports recovery during long fights. Against Uncle Eleven's overwhelming Heavenly Fox Finger, however, vegetation, Heart Armor, and body defense fail in sequence before recovery can operate. Zhang is stronger than Ma Renze in a direct contest but lacks Ma's specialized assassination penetration. The source gives no breakthrough history or further progression before his death. Relationships

  • Su Chen: Zhang investigates and threatens him over Zhang Sheng'an's death, then accepts Kaihuang's Heaven as a settlement. Su uses that desire to direct the coalition into a lethal clash. (Chapters 239–250)

The finalized item inventory contains no entries for Zhang Tingyue. He wears a Heart Armor that releases golden protection, but Uncle Eleven's strike shatters it.
