Yan Fuxing
Yan Fuxing was a bloodline-less Hidden Dragon Institute student who explored the Falling Eagle Mountain ruins with Team Bright. He hoped to join the army and fight the Ferocious Race, shaping his spear-centered combat style. During the ruins conflict, he died helping Sun Jizu kill Jiang Yang after the bloodline-clan students turned on their former companions. (Chapters 196–219)
Biography
Team Bright and the fatal counterattack
Yan joins Zheng Xia, Du Qing, and Sun Jizu on the Falling Eagle Mountain expedition. He initially dislikes Cloud Leopard and takes pride in Team Bright defeating a Mountain Demon faster than Su Chen's neighboring group, though two Giant Adamantine Apes quickly expose the team's depleted reserves. Over nearly ten days, Yan trains, fights with the group, plays badly behaved chess with Sun Jizu, and boasts about his improving aura to Du Qing. These scenes show a competitive but socially integrated student rather than an isolated fighter. (Chapters 196–213)
When Zhang Sheng'an's faction draws the Clay Giant toward Team Bright, Yan and Sun Jizu survive the immediate pursuit and then fight Jiang Yang. Yan repeatedly intervenes to save Sun, uses a concealed spearhead to damage Jiang's face, and fires a final white-light attack after Jiang drives a hand through his abdomen. That attack blinds Jiang long enough for Sun's Earth-Cracking Hoop to decapitate him. Yan dies from his wounds, and Sun's later anger when questioned about the death reflects their close partnership. Appearance and personality
Yan Fuxing wears a long azure robe, black blocky boots, and a chain of clear jades at his waist. His hair rises high above his head, and a large mole sits on the right side of his face near his nose. He is muscular enough to flex his chest while boasting about training. (Chapters 196 and 213)
He is proud, competitive, sociable, and sometimes vain. His poor chess etiquette and attempts to impress Du Qing give him a comic side, while his battlefield conduct reveals loyalty and resolve. He is embarrassed to admit exhaustion, but when Sun Jizu is threatened he accepts mortal injuries to create openings rather than retreating alone. (Chapters 199–219)
Abilities and cultivation
Yan is a bloodline-less Origin Qi Scholar whose exact realm is not stated. His principal art is the Galloping Wind Spear, an overbearing, wide-sweeping style chosen because he intends to enter the army and regards the spear as suited to mass battle. In the ruins, training strengthens its momentum, and its detachable or launching spear tip lets him bypass a damaged layer of Jiang Yang's Dense Earth Armor. (Chapters 199–219)
Even with Sun Jizu's help, Yan cannot match Jiang Yang's bloodline-enhanced power and defense directly. Jiang breaks Yan's wrist and penetrates his abdomen. Yan's last demonstrated technique is a white light fired from his mouth that blinds Jiang's remaining eye, but the source does not name it, explain its origin, or show whether it can be used repeatedly.
