Scattered Moon Mist

Scattered Moon Mist is the Harpy operative entrusted with recovering a broodmother hidden in Flat Sky City. She accompanies head ambassador Purple Forest Stream, withholds the mission's secret even from him, and later assumes direct responsibility for transporting the recovered asset to Sky City.

Biography

Recovery of the broodmother

Scattered Moon Mist pressed for a diplomatic visit to Flat Sky City while refusing to tell Purple Forest Stream exactly what the Harpies had lost there. She helped adopt his prisoner-exchange cover and accepted that ordinary Harpy captives could be sacrificed to preserve it. While the formal negotiations stalled, she remained focused on locating the missing broodmother. (Chapters 787–792)

Jade Brilliance eventually led the envoy to the broodmother. Scattered Moon Mist verified its Soul Stamp, unsuccessfully tried to redirect its loyalty toward Harpy rulers, and took control of the return journey. When Hunting Wind Bandits attacked the convoy, she committed her personal subordinates to protect the shuttles and the broodmother. Afterward, she correctly identified the raid as a probe but accepted a reassuring explanation for the Zhu Clan's hidden experts. (Chapters 804–805 and 819–824)

Appearance and personality

Scattered Moon Mist is a female Harpy. During the bandit attack, her hair flies wildly and her aura becomes chaotic as the battle leaves her in poor condition. The corpus gives no fixed description of her face, hair color, wings, clothing, age, or build. (Chapter 820)

She is secretive, mission-focused, proud, and willing to make harsh political choices. She treats the broodmother's recovery as more important than individual lives, including her own and those of ordinary captives. Her secrecy frustrates Purple Forest Stream and impairs his planning, while her concern over failure makes her emotional during the convoy attack and eager to accept a plausible explanation afterward. She can inspect a Soul Stamp closely enough to verify its loyalty conditions and attempts to alter its chain of command through verbal authority, although the broodmother rejects the change because she is not the stamp's owner.
