Jiang Hanfeng

Jiang Hanfeng is a Hidden Dragon Institute student who develops from an inexperienced formation specialist into one of the Boundless Sect’s senior formation engineers. His improvisation helps preserve his comrades in the Goldwater Ruins, and his later work on sealing, teleportation, and anti-Desolate-Beast formations gives the Sect strategic capabilities that direct combat strength alone cannot provide.

Biography

Responsibility in the Goldwater Ruins

Jiang Hanfeng enters the Goldwater Ruins as a joking, sociable eighth-year student who calls everyone by invented seniority titles. That levity vanishes after Zuo Ningbai dies and Pi Yuanhong is critically injured in a battle where Jiang believes he was a burden. When Su Chen orders him to build a concealment formation so surgery can proceed undisturbed, Jiang admits that concealment is not his specialty but accepts responsibility. Unable to eliminate the formation’s leaking fluctuations, he stands on its foundation and absorbs them through his own body until the operation is finished, risking an Origin Energy backlash rather than expose the cave. The choice saves Pi Yuanhong and turns Jiang’s guilt into a concrete act of endurance. He later fights with the reunited student group and helps it survive the ruins’ larger conflicts. From imperial service to the Boundless Sect

After the expedition, Jiang supports Su Chen’s Clear River operations by helping create portable formation disks and joining the team that raids the Lingyuan Marsh. He graduates and completes the ten years of service owed to the imperial family, then returns to his clan. Clan confinement and pressure to marry for a Demonic King bloodline clash with his free-spirited temperament, so he leaves and asks Su Chen to take him in. Su Chen immediately assigns him the Boundless Sect’s mountain-defending formation, converting Jiang’s flight from a dynastic obligation into a permanent technical role in a new organization. Strategic formation engineer

Within the mature Boundless Sect, Jiang becomes a specialist trusted with formations meant to restrain Sovereigns and reshape campaigns. He helps inspect and operate a seal designed to suppress a Sovereign, works with Su Chen on long-range teleportation using rare Void Crystals, and contributes to the spatial formation that redirects a Desolate Beast’s attacks away from the human army. During the war against the Beasts, infiltrators destroy the Cursing Heaven Formation; Jiang confirms it can be repaired, accepts Su Chen’s order to restore it under battlefield pressure, and helps return control of the surrounding formation network. His latest role is therefore no longer that of a protected student but of an engineer whose work keeps armies alive against creatures far beyond an individual cultivator’s strength. Appearance and personality
