Biography
Commander at Flowing Gold Fort
Hong Qianzhu presides over the public hearing into Su Chen's rescue of the Heavenly Might Battalion. He frames the questioning as a temporary necessity, acknowledges that Su must be rewarded, and leads the generals in applause after hearing the rescue account. He later overhears discussion of Su's bloodline-free Light Shaking breakthrough and recognizes its future importance. Although the Crown Prince reorganizes the rescued battalion under Hong's watch, outside observers describe the apparently unassuming old commander as politically difficult to overcome. (Chapters 727, 730, 733, and 735)
Neutrality and the fort's counterattack
Years later, Hong remains tall and formidable despite his silvery hair. He coordinates with Li Chongshan to lure Lin Zuiliu's army into the Flowing Gold Fort's counterattack, both defending the country and answering the soldiers' anger over Long Pojun's death. Lin's force is nearly annihilated and Hong's reputation rises sharply. Even so, the Flowing Gold Army halts rather than joining the wider civil conflict, preserving an officially neutral position. (Chapters 998–999)
Appearance and personality
Hong is white- or silvery-haired. Age has thinned his vitality and reduced the majestic aura of his prime, yet his body remains tall, sturdy, and muscular, visibly that of a lifelong fighter. (Chapters 727 and 998)
He is measured, politically shrewd, and more restrained than his legendary battlefield image suggests. He can conduct a hostile hearing without denying real merit, and later uses patience, deception, and limited objectives to destroy an invading army while avoiding an open commitment to the civil war. (Chapters 727–735 and 998–999)
Abilities and cultivation
Hong is a Thought Manifestation Realm cultivator, placing him below only the Ultimate Emperor Realm in the human cultivation hierarchy of his era. His Killer Overlord Beast bloodline, inherited through the Brightlake Hong Clan, grants tremendous strength. At his peak he charged alone into a Ravager formation and emerged unscathed. (Chapters 727 and 730)
The bloodline's strength consumes vitality, and Hong's fearless fighting style and accumulated wounds have shortened his lifespan. By his first appearance he cultivates primarily to maintain himself rather than advance, and his chief contribution is command support for Flowing Gold Fort. The later victory is strategic; the corpus does not isolate a new personal combat technique from him. (Chapters 727 and 998–999)
