Long Pojun

Long Pojun was a celebrated bloodline-less general whose apparent invulnerability came from the Blood Fiend's Bone implanted in his body. After the Exterminating Ferocious Army's destruction, he lived under the name Ding Feng until Su Chen exposed him. His refusal to exchange independence for a cure ultimately made his final choice as important as his former reputation. (Chapters 119–144 and 967–974)

Biography

Hero, survivor, and final refusal

Long Pojun rose without a bloodline and became one of the army's most famous officers, serving as vice commander at Flowing Gold Fort and earning a place among the celebrated bloodline-less heroes. His extraordinary toughness was widely mistaken for a conventional body-cultivation achievement. After the Heavenly Might Battalion was trapped, however, he did not attempt an impossible solitary rescue. He later admitted that he had recognized them as family only after it was too late and had accepted that charging after them would merely add his death to theirs. (Chapters 119–144 and 967–969)

Living as the gaunt Black Flame member Ding Feng, Long Pojun concealed both his identity and the cost of his power. Su Chen forced the truth into the open, after which Long fought openly again and demonstrated why his legend had endured. His conflict with Lin Mengze centered on Yaoyao, an agent sent to monitor him who instead fell in love with him. Long joined Lin Zuiliu against the emperor after Yaoyao's death, but a failed attack left him afflicted by the Soul-Assimilating Ghost. Lin Zuiliu could suppress the injury yet demanded permanent service in return; Long refused to become anyone's obedient dog, accepted the resulting death, and died beside Liu Sitong. Appearance and personality

Without his armor, Long Pojun was short, skeletal, and so emaciated that red bone could be seen through his damaged flesh. The imposing, iron-bodied figure associated with his legend was an effect of armor and the Blood Fiend's Bone rather than his natural build. His appearance reflected years spent denying the implant enough blood to grow uncontrollably. (Chapter 968)

His courage combined endurance with a fierce need for independence. He could withstand the Bone consuming his own body, face overwhelming opponents, and accept death rather than submit to Lin Zuiliu. At the same time, his account of the Heavenly Might Battalion rejects a simple heroic myth: he was tired, knew he could not save them alone, and chose survival. That mixture of loyalty, regret, pragmatism, and refusal to be owned defines his later life. (Chapters 968–973)

Abilities and cultivation

Long Pojun had no known bloodline, and the corpus never states his formal cultivation realm. His defining power was the Blood Fiend's Bone, an implanted foreign bone that absorbed blood and vitality, reinforced his body, and converted stolen life force into extraordinary strength and defense. It allowed him to withstand the combined attacks of many Light Shaking cultivators, crush enemies with simple grabs and punches, and replenish his protection by killing. He possessed no comparably developed offensive Origin Skill; his body itself was the weapon. (Chapters 968–970)

The Bone imposed a worsening appetite. Feeding it made it stronger but increased its future hunger, while starving it caused it to consume Long's own flesh and reduce him to a skeleton. He eventually maintained control with very small quantities of Sea Beast meat, demonstrating discipline rather than freedom from the implant. The Soul-Assimilating Ghost later bypassed this physical durability, and Long could not cure that spiritual injury himself. The source gives differing immediate accounts of who transferred the Bone, but later identifies Lin Raoxian as the person who gave it to him. (Chapters 968–973 and 1107)

• Su Chen: Su recognizes Ding Feng as Long Pojun, challenges the heroic story surrounding him, and witnesses the true mechanics and cost of the Blood Fiend's Bone. After Long's death, Liu Sitong delivers the Bone to Su. (Chapters 967–974)
• The Heavenly Might Battalion: Long once regarded its members as comrades and belatedly understood them as family. His decision not to pursue them into certain death remained a source of regret and exposed the distance between his legend and his exhausted private judgment. (Chapters 967–969)
• Yaoyao: Sent by Lin Mengze to spy on Long, she fell in love with him. Her death drove his opposition to the emperor and shaped the confrontation that led to his fatal spiritual injury. (Chapters 970–973)
