Biography
Defense of Swallow River and Gu Qingluo's awakening
Gu Yaoye fights with three other Spirit Burning ancestors against the Lightning Snake Demonic King during the Beast attack on Swallow River. Su Chen's warning lets him avoid an Azure Wolf's surprise strike, and Su later delivers medicines that temporarily increase the exhausted defenders' strength. The four experts eventually kill the Lightning Snake with support from the city's other cultivators. Wounded but alive, Yaoye recognizes Su's contribution, gives him the Lightning Snake's Thunder Origin Crystal, and negotiates a separate exchange for a Molten Rock Demon core. (Chapters 585–594)
When Qingluo is poisoned and Su's medicine awakens her Shining Dragon bloodline, Yaoye remains with her through the transformation and joins the pursuit as she flies toward the Zhou Clan for revenge. He first tries to prevent an impulsive confrontation, then accepts that her anger must be expressed and personally handles the opposing Zhou ancestor while leaving Qingluo's demand to her. Afterward he receives Su's declaration of marriage and the Flight Network arrangement as a Gu elder. His direct story ends there, with no recorded death, retirement, or successor. (Chapters 594–602)
Appearance and personality
Gu Yaoye is an old clan ancestor, but the corpus does not give a detailed face, build, or clothing. While cultivating, he sits cross-legged and motionless inside a Frost Flower Stone room, appearing almost carved from the same material. (Chapter 593)
He is pragmatic, shrewd in negotiation, protective of the clan, and capable of acknowledging earned service. He repays Su for defending the city but refuses to give every valuable resource away as a family gift. With Qingluo, caution yields to support once he recognizes that delay would expose her to the Six Kingdoms and deny her justified revenge. (Chapters 585–602)
Abilities and cultivation
Gu Yaoye is a Spirit Burning Realm cultivator whose Divine Palace development is later compared to Li Chongshan's Fivefold Palace. Against an ambush, his body turns transparent, blends into the night, and lets an azure energy attack pass through as ripples without injuring him. He can manifest enormous hands and palm strikes, fly at extreme speed, carry another person through sleeve-like force, and create or send a stabilizing cloud under airborne travelers. (Chapters 585–598 and 635)
He has powerful consciousness perception, enhanced by his Frost Flower Stone cultivation room, but Su Chen's consciousness is stated to exceed that of Yaoye and the other defending ancestors. Even with Spirit Burning cultivation, Yaoye cannot cure Qingluo's poison and cannot initially catch her newly awakened Shining Dragon speed. The Lightning Snake requires four Spirit Burning experts, medicines, and wider support to defeat; his precise bloodline, named combat arts, breakthrough history, and later progression remain unstated. (Chapters 585–595 and 635)

Items
The finalized item inventory contains no entries for Gu Yaoye. He possesses a Frost Flower Stone cultivation room and holds the Lightning Snake's Thunder Origin Crystal and a Molten Rock Demon core before transferring them to Su Chen. These resources support cultivation and negotiation, but neither remains in Yaoye's inventory after Chapter 594. (Chapters 593–594)
