Elf Spring Water

Overview

Elf Spring Water is a restorative produced through the Wishing Candle. Its principal use is highly specific: calming the overwhelming elven mental force inside Byron, whose adapted Elf King locator gives him extraordinary reserves but threatens to draw him into the world barrier during advancement.

History

Production and transfer

Shaya obtains the water through the Wishing Candle and gives it to Saul as payment when he returns the artifact. Saul recognizes that the consumable is more useful to Byron than to himself. (Chapters 743–745)

Byron's treatment

Byron drinks the spring water and the violent elven mental force settles. The treatment does not grant him a free rank, but it removes the immediate danger that further advancement will pull his consciousness toward the world barrier. (Chapters 746–748)

Aftereffect

Later scenes treat the barrier as reduced rather than presenting another stored dose. The water's narrative role is therefore a completed treatment whose benefit continues through Byron's research and eventual Second Rank advancement. (Chapters 801–802, 891)

Functions and limitations

• Calms excessive or unstable elven mental power.
• Reduces advancement risk for a compatible half-elf or elven-locator state.
• Acts as a consumable treatment rather than a permanent reusable artifact.
• Does not itself replace the user's research, rank requirements, or later breakthrough.

Custody

Shaya gives the water to Saul, who immediately allocates it to Byron. Byron consumes it during treatment.
