Biography

A desperate advancement

At thirty-five, Nero was nearing the end of institutional support without having crossed from third-level apprentice to formal wizard. He attended Saul's classes and, despite Paul's concern, used the dangerous Cat's Gratitude effect to force a favorable opportunity; the gamble helped him advance. When Mina was abducted, Nero sought Parin's aid and worried that Saul lacked the rank to intervene, then helped clean Parin's laboratory and maintain the official account after Saul rescued her. He remained alive, more capable and more cautious about hidden power. (Chapters 773–788)

Appearance and personality

Nero is a thirty-five-year-old man whose anxiety about age and advancement makes him willing to accept dangerous bargains. He is nevertheless loyal to friends and capable of practical discretion after a crisis.
