Biography

From sealed sister to Red Sea guardian

Mido begins as Sander's sister Miska, a frightened soul kept in a box because she resists being removed from the only vessel in which she feels safe. Her consciousness later survives within the Chaos Realm Compass. Saul combines Black Sea Tree pollution processing, Inverted Tree control, royal mermaid blood, and a black-branch body to give her a new existence rather than forcing an ordinary resurrection. Sander accepts the design because it grants her agency and helps save the Red Sea. Mido becomes Saul's third Symphony target, controls the Red Sea Trees, and serves as a protected communication link during the final war. She survives into the epilogue but grows up abruptly after Sander's death. (Chapters 325–326, 811–823, 870–872, 893–943, 1000–1034, and 1037)

Appearance and personality

Mido first has no ordinary body, responding from a box as a frightened younger sister. Her constructed form is a conscious black branch linked into the Red Sea Tree network; her initially childlike voice becomes mature after bereavement. (Chapters 325–326, 870–872, and 1037)

Abilities

She processes pollution through Black Sea Tree traits, controls Red Sea Trees through branch and thread connections, and communicates through the Symphony. The network lets her influence a vast coast while allies protect the vulnerable central body. (Chapters 870–872, 893–943, and 1020–1034)

Relationships

• Sander: Sander preserves Mido through multiple crises and chooses Saul's experimental body because it gives her a future beyond storage. (Chapters 325–326, 811–823, and 870–872)
