Biography
Second Morgue custodian and revolt casualty
Kujin is the nearly two-meter-tall apprentice who hands the Second Morgue over to Saul, explaining its corpse storage, communication pens, candelabra requirements, and dangerous numbered materials. His knowledge gives Saul access to the work that reveals Yura and advances the tower's resurrection preparations, but Kujin remains more custodian than trusted mentor. During the revolt he joins the hostile side and appears in the small garden as an obstacle. Saul, now a True Wizard with direct soul-attacking tentacles, kills him quickly. Jero later dismisses Kujin as useless, confirming that no surviving faction treats his death as strategically important. (Chapters 155–171, 237–246, 305–306, and 425–432)
Appearance and personality
Kujin is extremely tall, making the young Saul look small beside him. He is impatient, rule-bound, and eager to escape the Second Morgue assignment, but understands enough of its dangers to emphasize the taboos during the handover. (Chapters 155–171)
Abilities
His strengths lie in corpse-material management, morgue safety, apprentice-level combat, and the preparation routines supporting resurrection research. Saul's formal-wizard soul attack overwhelms him before those skills can matter. (Chapters 155–171 and 425–432)
