Temporary teammate and academy investigator

Julie introduces herself as a First Rank light wizard when Bayton Academy assigns her, Shaya, and Saul to a dangerous field mission. Her friendliness helps establish the temporary team, while her warnings connect Saul to senior wizard Kent when the case escalates. She later investigates Kent's contaminated death at Saul's residence, cooperates with the official questioning, and privately signals that she believes Kent deserved the outcome. Her last direct role leaves her alive but frustrated after the cautious Shaya abandons their separate pollution investigation. (Chapters 468–473, 498)

Appearance and personality

Julie is a white-haired woman of indeterminate age with a flirtatious smile. Sociable, teasing, and adaptable, she is more candid with Saul than Bayton's formal investigators.

Relationships
