Biography

Dreammaker and failed predator

Clark rules through layered dreams, using apprentices such as Claude and turning the Borderland's uncertainty into a field where waking evidence cannot be trusted. He targets Pei'er as the stepping stone for his own advancement and pulls her, Saul, and others into a dream confrontation while believing the Stargate Council's support will protect his claim. Saul's Blood-Soul Fusion and anomalous dream response destabilize the domain, while Ophelia's divided intervention prevents Clark from controlling every layer. The Dreammaker collapses and dies, and Ophelia later describes his failure as proof that he was not capable enough to use Pei'er successfully. (Chapters 513–571, 599–632, and 757)

Appearance and personality

Clark appears perpetually sleepy, with messy brown hair, half-closed eyes, and colorful butterflies that emerge when he yawns. His languor is calculated confidence: he prefers to let enemies question reality until resistance feels pointless, and is startled when Saul can alter himself without ordinary dream-bound mental casting. (Chapters 513, 571, and 628–630)

Abilities

He creates persistent nightmares, dream bodies, false memories, and nested environments that can affect waking judgment. Wind chimes and dream-linked apprentices extend his reach, but direct soul-flesh integration and outside consciousness interference can break his control. (Chapters 512–571 and 599–632)

Relationships

• Pei'er: Clark regards Pei'er as advancement material; her determination to kill him turns their earlier contest into the final dream battle. (Chapters 599–632)
• Saul: Saul enters Clark's domain as apparent prey and becomes the anomaly that collapses the Dreammaker's confidence and plan. (Chapters 628–630)
