Xia Emperor

Xia Emperor, whose personal name is Xiamang Xun, is the founder and sovereign of the Grand Xia Dynasty. He combines the authority of a world-ruler with the cultivation of a Pure Yang True Immortal, first cultivating future allies through the Conclave of Immortal Destiny and later commanding Grand Xia through its Realmwar. Biography

Building Grand Xia and preparing for the storm

The imperial Xiamang clan descends from the Xia clan of the Primordial World. Xiamang Xun led his branch into the world that became Grand Xia, fought its Fiendgods and human tribes, and eventually unified it under his dynasty. Although he seldom appears publicly after establishing that rule, decrees issued in his name remain absolute. He is also a disciple of Daofather Crimsonbright, giving his dynasty a direct connection to one of the Three Realms' major powers. (Chapters 314 and 318)

The destruction of the Six Paths of Reincarnation convinces him that a hidden force is moving against the established order. Rather than assume Grand Xia's age and karmic fortune will protect it, he looks for talented cultivators who might become powerful allies. This is why he decides to host the Conclave of Immortal Destiny personally: the tournament is not merely ceremonial, but an attempt to bind the era's best young cultivators to himself and his world before the coming storm. Directing the Conclave of Immortal Destiny

Xiamang Xun administers the Conclave from beginning to end. He places more than one hundred thousand competitors inside the Brightmoon Diagram, communicates with them within its internal world, and uses talismans to remove survivors from the trial. During the final matches he heals the contestants between bouts and accelerates time around the remaining twelve so that they can recover and study before fighting again. (Chapters 320, 338, and 340)

His political purpose does not disappear when the competition narrows. He prevents the visiting Pure Yang True Immortals from recruiting the finalists until Crimsonbright has made his selection, then sends his white-robed Primaltwin to consult his master. He accepts Crimsonbright's choice of Ji Ning and manages the remaining placements and rewards, keeping both the Conclave and its talented participants within the larger strategy of Grand Xia. Patronage, obligation, and Ji Ning

The Xia Emperor's support for Ji Ning is calculated but genuine. During Ning's conflict with the Youngflame clan, he treats Ning favorably, stands behind him, and eventually rescues him. He later explains that aid given before the great storm creates a meaningful debt: if Grand Xia faces destruction, Ning will have a personal reason to help rather than simply leave. (Chapter 563)

That approach matures into respect during the Realmwar. Even after Yu Wei's betrayal devastates Ning and enrages allied commanders, Xiamang Xun shields him from immediate condemnation. When Ning's breakthrough changes the military balance, the emperor is willing to rebuild his plans around Ning rather than cling to rank or wounded pride. After victory, he invites Ning to address him as Xiamang, acknowledging that Ning has become a near-equal ally rather than merely a junior beneficiary. (Chapters 556, 558, and 563)

Despair and resolve in the Realmwar

As commander, Xiamang Xun evacuates vulnerable populations, gathers the Grand Xia armies, and uses the capital and its formations as the center of resistance. When the first major battle begins to collapse, Ji Ning's counterattack gives him enough room to order an organized withdrawal. His relief is tempered by the scale of the losses and by the realization that Grand Xia has survived a battle, not won the war. (Chapters 508 and 531)

The defeat nearly breaks his confidence. He considers abandoning Grand Xia to preserve the imperial clan and hesitates to activate the Worldguard Formation again because doing so would consume his Primaltwin's Jindan essence. Crimsonbright forces him to recognize that long peace has made him unwilling to spend his own strength while soldiers die for his realm. Xiamang Xun accepts the rebuke, resolves to bear the same costs he demands from his armies, and becomes more decisive in the counteroffensive. (Chapter 532)

He subsequently coordinates reinforcements, monitors the battlefield through Grand Xia's formations, and commits himself alongside the other Empyrean Gods and True Immortals. The campaign survives Sword Immortal Evergreen's betrayal, regroups around Ning's new power, and ends with Grand Xia victorious. Xiamang Xun then concentrates the remaining forces at the capital, aware that winning the Realmwar has not ended the wider conflict threatening the Three Realms. (Chapters 535–547, 558, and 563)

Appearance and personality

Xiamang Xun appears as a black-robed man with a plain, unassuming face. His eyes seem to contain thunder, and the narrative describes his gaze as though it could split the world. His formal arrival in the imperial capital—surrounded by black-armored guards and seated in a dragon-drawn Immortal carriage—emphasizes the scale of his authority even though his own clothing and features are restrained. (Chapter 317)

He is a long-term political thinker who turns hospitality, protection, and prestige into obligations that may preserve Grand Xia. That pragmatism does not make him indifferent to people: he heals injured competitors, protects Ning at a moment of public anger, and takes real joy when Ning saves his army. His central weakness is complacency born from long rule. The Realmwar forces him to admit that he has asked others to sacrifice while preserving his own resources, after which he deliberately changes how he commands. (Chapters 338, 532, 556, and 563)

Abilities and cultivation

Pure Yang cultivation and the Grand Dao of Time

Xiamang Xun is a Pure Yang True Immortal with substantial insight into the Grand Dao of Time. During the Conclave he changes the flow of time around the twelve finalists, giving them additional subjective time to recover and meditate between matches. The technique is not free or unlimited: altering time consumes tremendous energy, and even at his level he restricts the effect to twelve people rather than attempting to encompass the tournament's more than one hundred thousand entrants. (Chapter 340)

His cultivation also allows him to tear through the void, travel between major locations, and participate personally among Grand Xia's Empyrean Gods and True Immortals. The corpus emphasizes rulership, formation control, and battlefield command more than a named personal offensive art, so no specific sword, weapon, or body-refining technique is established for him. (Chapters 350 and 540–542)

True body and white-robed Primaltwin

The black-robed emperor and his white-robed Primaltwin can act at different locations. He sends the Primaltwin across the void to report to Crimsonbright during the Conclave, and later stations it at the heart of Grand Xia's defenses to activate the Worldguard Formation. This division lets him combine political command, communication with his master, and formation control, but damage or exhaustion to the Primaltwin remains a real cost rather than a disposable inconvenience. (Chapters 350, 531, and 532)

Worldguard and battlefield formations

Grand Xia's Worldguard Formation is a treasure-built defensive system, not an innate spell. Its formation-diagram links more than three Pure Yang treasures and more than one thousand Immortal-ranked treasures into a defense intended to safeguard the imperial headquarters and the entire major world. Xiamang Xun can activate it with a thought, but laying out the system required power beyond that of an ordinary Pure Yang True Immortal. (Chapter 319)

The formation's reach comes with a personal limit. Activating it through the white-robed Primaltwin consumes the Primaltwin's Jindan essence; using it again too quickly would leave that body unable to recover for a long period. On the active battlefield, Xiamang Xun also controls a grand formation covering roughly one million kilometers, allowing him to observe movements across the region and detect enemies forcibly tearing open space. These systems make him an unusually effective defender and commander without making their power wholly his own. (Chapters 532 and 535)

Brightmoon Diagram administration

The Brightmoon Diagram of the Mountains and Rivers supplies the Conclave's vast internal trial world. Xiamang Xun draws the contestants into it, observes their progress, speaks directly into their minds, and uses the participants' talismans as an emergency exit that removes them from danger. Its spatial world and transport functions belong to the Pure Yang treasure; his role is that of owner and administrator. (Chapter 320)

Restoration and tournament control

Between the Conclave's final matches, Xiamang Xun releases rainbow-colored drops that enter injured contestants, heal their wounds, and restore divine power and elemental ki. He also seals individual battle arenas and controls when the competitors enter, recover, and resume fighting. These displays are used to keep the contest fair and its best candidates alive, not as evidence of an unlimited healing ability under all conditions. (Chapters 338–340)

• Ji Ning: Xiamang Xun first cultivates Ning as a promising Conclave participant, then supports him during the Youngflame conflict in the hope that mutual obligation will help preserve Grand Xia. The Realmwar transforms that patronage into a near-equal alliance. (Chapters 348–355 and 556–563)
