World God Pillsaint — Desolate Era

Pillsaint is a gifted alchemist whom Ji Ning meets on the Astral Islands. Combat initially obstructs his chosen path, but service under Ning gives him the [Seven Leafpill Chapters], allowing his Dao of Alchemy to carry him into the Daolord stages.

Biography

Astral Islands exile

Pillsaint is abducted while returning from an invitation to refine pills for a Daolord and is forced into the Astral Islands' combat trials. He is expressive, guileless, and frustrated that the Brightshore Kingdom values victories rather than alchemy. Although he uses warhammers and possesses the physical control needed for pill-forging, he is poorly matched to a system built around duels. Ning takes a liking to him, gifts him a legacy before leaving, and later helps him reach the Twelve Palaces. (Chapters 874–910)

Retainer of Darknorth

Unable to enter the Palace of Fire despite repeated attempts, Pillsaint seeks Ning and straightforwardly swears a retainer oath. He joins Su Youji in serving Darknorth and accompanies the alternate-universe expedition inside Ning's estate-world. His loyalty gives him safety and access to opportunities, while his alchemical expertise gives Ning a specialist capable of refining medicines the sword cultivator cannot efficiently produce himself. Seven Leafpill transformation

Ning transmits the [Seven Leafpill Chapters] to Pillsaint. Pillsaint immediately recognizes the inheritance as a new path to the peak of alchemy, throws himself into practical refinement, and improves at least tenfold in the Trileaf Realm. After mastering successive chapters, he becomes a Daolord and later advances naturally to the Second Step. He remains intensely devoted to pill-making, described much later as “pill-crazy,” and waits with Ning's closest companions during the Daomerge. (Chapters 972–989, 1009–1033, 1186, and 1285–1290)

Appearance and personality

Pillsaint is a chubby or pudgy youth who later wears loose red robes, sometimes appearing with food grease on his lips. He cannot hide his emotions: joy, worry, and excitement show immediately. His pure, childlike Dao-heart survives advancement into the Daolord level and is presented as a core reason he can progress along the Dao of Alchemy. (Chapters 874, 974, and 1009)

Abilities and cultivation

Dao of Alchemy

Pillsaint begins as a grandmaster-level pillmaker trained by a famous alchemist. The [Seven Leafpill Chapters] deepen his work from professional expertise into a cultivation path. He studies principles, tests them through actual refinements, masters the Thousand Songs pill, and uses the first six chapters as a clear route through the Daolord stages. His progress depends on repeated practice and comprehension, not automatic power granted by reading. (Chapters 910, 921, 972–979, and 1027)

Pill-forging combat foundations

He is skilled in controlling empty space and has a physically strong body because both are needed to manipulate ingredients and endure pill-forging. On the Astral Islands he adapts those foundations to warhammer combat. He remains combat-weaker than peers whose Daos focus on battle, a limitation explicitly contrasted with his alchemical value. (Chapters 875 and 1009)

Daolord progression

Pillsaint stabilizes his foundation in the Trileaf Realm, advances from World God to Daolord, and reaches the Second Step after intensive alchemical study. His advancement rebuilds his body like that of any Daolord, but his distinctive path remains alchemy rather than direct battle. (Chapters 983–989 and 1027–1033)
