Imperator Jade Rainbow

Imperator Jade Rainbow is one of the two strongest members of Patriarch Treewind's five-person expedition through the Blazesun Domain. An experienced and cautious major power, he helps guide Nuwa through the domain, survives the Blazesun Ruler's retaliation, and accompanies Ji Ning while investigating an imprisoned Sithe Exalt and a recovered Sithe war-fort.

Biography

Traveling with Nuwa

Jade Rainbow journeys aboard a silvery ship with Patriarch Treewind, Nuwa, and two companions. He is introduced as Treewind's equal within the group, and the title “Imperator” reflects the authority and pride of someone who rules vast territories. When Nuwa receives a message from the distant Ji Ning, Jade Rainbow explains Darknorth's astonishing career, emphasizing that he reached supreme power in roughly the same ordinary span of time that Nuwa has cultivated. He also warns that Ning failed his Daomerge and therefore has a limited remaining life. (Chapters 1296–1297)

The expedition rests in Houwu City after raiding what they believe to be a Sithe armory. At Lord Houwu's request, Jade Rainbow accepts a delay so that Ning can meet Nuwa. He joins the welcoming delegation and encourages the reunion, behaving deferentially because Darknorth's reputation places him far above ordinary Hegemons and Emperors. (Chapters 1301–1303)

The Blazesun Ruler's retaliation

The supposed armory was actually a hidden residence of the Blazesun Ruler. The party removed its treasures, caused extensive damage, and destroyed the ruler's favored Jadeheart Lamp. When Walker Scarletbind arrives with more than two hundred Hegemonic creatures and demands all five culprits, Jade Rainbow immediately recognizes the scale of their mistake. He and Treewind hope Ning will intervene, but also understand that the Blazesun Ruler's full strength could threaten even a failed-Daomerge Darknorth by forcing him into a prolonged battle. (Chapters 1305–1306)

Ning's sword domain stops the first attack and his sword kills the Eight-Armed Hill. Jade Rainbow watches with awe and relief, then strongly supports Ning's decision to leave Houwu City before the Blazesun Ruler arrives in person. His response is consistent throughout the crisis: he does not deny responsibility or pretend the group can win alone, and he prefers escape to a battle that would needlessly consume Ning's failing truesoul. (Chapters 1307–1309)

Sithe sites and the end of the expedition

While traveling with Ning, Jade Rainbow identifies the Blazesun Domain's fire-filled nucleus and provides practical knowledge about the imprisoned Sithe Exalt. He explains that the Exalt remains violently dangerous within a one-million-kilometer attack range, yet sometimes points out flaws in visiting cultivators' Daos. Jade Rainbow regards the prisoner as pitiable after countless years of torment but never mistakes sympathy for safety. (Chapters 1310–1315)

The group next discovers a damaged Sithe castle emerging from a dimensional whirlpool. Jade Rainbow helps search the structure but cannot open its concealed dimensional space; Ning's superior domain and insight are needed to expose the internals. When the restored war-fort demonstrates thunder powerful enough to kill even Jade Rainbow, he recognizes it as a battlefield weapon meant to stabilize entire regions during the Dawn War. After Ning's later return from the Chaosverse's prime essences with Autarch Ekong, Jade Rainbow departs the realmship midway to the Flamedragon Realmverse, ending his journey with Darknorth alive. (Chapters 1317–1319 and 1327–1328)

Appearance and personality

Jade Rainbow is a dazzlingly handsome young man dressed in beautiful robes. His face and manner are extraordinarily cold and remote, matching the self-assurance suggested by his title.

Experience tempers that pride. He is socially gracious toward figures who deserve respect, openly admits fear when his group provokes the Blazesun Ruler, and repeatedly recommends caution around powers that exceed him. He is also curious and analytical, interpreting the Blazesun nucleus, the Exalt's strange willingness to teach, and the capabilities of Sithe war machines rather than treating them as scenery.

Abilities and cultivation

Imperator-level cultivation

Jade Rainbow is an Imperator, a title used by an extremely powerful Eternal Emperor who dominates a great territory. Within the five-person expedition he is explicitly the only member equal to Patriarch Treewind, placing him well above the other travelers. The corpus does not name his core Dao or show his full personal battle art, so no specific elemental or weapon discipline can be attributed to him. (Chapter 1296)

Survival and domain experience

Jade Rainbow has the senses and endurance needed to cross the Blazesun Domain, a supreme sacred region filled with Sourcewalkers, strange lifeforms, unstable space, and concentrated fire energy. He can identify the domain's likely nucleus from its unprecedented energy and assess whether a Sithe Exalt or war machine can kill him. These judgments show practical expertise, but they do not make him immune to the hazards he recognizes. The war-fort's thunder and the imprisoned Exalt both remain potentially fatal. (Chapters 1310–1319)

Cooperative expedition capability

Jade Rainbow operates as part of a high-level team rather than through a named formation. He participates in breaching the hidden estate, transporting its treasures, searching the recovered castle, and supporting the group's flight. The five cultivators can survive deep in the domain together, but their raid also demonstrates the limits of their reconnaissance: they mistake the Blazesun Ruler's residence for an unclaimed armory and cannot independently access the castle's concealed space. (Chapters 1305–1306 and 1317–1318)

Knowledge of Sithe confinement

Jade Rainbow knows that the imprisoned Exalt can attack to a fixed radius and has helped cultivators correct flawed Daos through conversation. His explanation distinguishes information from control: he can advise others where the danger lies, but he cannot suppress or release the prisoner. This knowledge comes from prior travel and shared domain lore rather than a demonstrated divination technique. (Chapters 1313–1315)
