Hegemon Goodsong
Hegemon Goodsong is the traveler who finds the decisive lead to Nuwa, then turns Ji Ning's promised favor into a Golden Emperor body and serves as a guide through the Blazesun Domain.
Biography
Finding Nuwa's trail
Goodsong learns both that Darknorth killed the Lonely King with one sword and that he is searching the Chaosverse for a woman named Nuwa. He remembers Patriarch Treewind's extraordinarily talented disciple, investigates her identity, and verifies details that make coincidence implausible: she came from the Blazesun Domain, advanced with extraordinary speed, and has become a Hegemon. Rather than merely repeat a name match, Goodsong reasons that this must be the same Nuwa Darknorth seeks. (Chapter 1295)
Reporting the discovery is itself a long undertaking. The Bluesky Realmverse is too remote for a direct message, so Goodsong spends tens of millions of years traveling to Grand Emperor Skydeep, whose connections can pass the news through Realmslord Windgrace. His urgency is partly altruistic and partly strategic: Darknorth promised a favor to the first person who found Nuwa, and Goodsong knows another expert could claim it if he delays. (Chapters 1295–1297)
Bargaining for a Golden Emperor form
When Ning meets him at the Grand Void Canyon, Goodsong asks for what he actually values: enough external power to reach the Otherverse Lord tier. He has been a Hegemon for ages while friends surpassed him, and the dangerous Eight Domains contain many beings stronger than ordinary Hegemons. After Ning rules out an otherverse and reserves his Sithe weapons for other purposes, Goodsong identifies Divine Sovereign Goldsun as a nearby owner of Golden Emperor forms. (Chapters 1298–1299)
The request is bold because it uses Ning's reputation to pressure a ruler Goodsong could not approach on equal terms. Goodsong accepts the danger, explaining that he has no family an enemy can use against him and that a Golden Emperor body will be extremely hard to kill. Ning honors the favor, negotiates at Goldsun Palace, and receives the golden liquid form. By the time the expedition enters the Blazesun Domain, Goodsong has undergone the Ritual Sacrificium and become a Golden Emperor. (Chapters 1299–1301)
Guide and combatant in the Blazesun Domain
Goodsong leads Ning toward Houwu City and explains the Eight Domains' geography, two available routes, local creatures, and cultivator strongholds. He recommends the direct route because his new body and Flamewing can handle most dangers, and the journey confirms that assessment: the pair clear the path without Ning needing to intervene. At Houwu City, Goodsong continues turning local knowledge into actionable choices, including the location of an imprisoned Sithe Exalt. (Chapters 1301–1303)
His upgrade is substantial but not absolute. When Ning sends him to assist Flamewing against Sourcewalker forces, Goodsong becomes golden light and breaks apart a regenerating tentacle, yet it repeatedly restrains him and leaves him clearly weaker than the Sourcewalker. He remains with the party through the Domain Rulers' confrontation and deeper exploration, contributing as a durable guide and fighter without being misrepresented as equal to the region's supreme beings. (Chapters 1305–1319)
Appearance and personality
Goodsong is a bald man in red robes. Before his transformation his body already gleams like gold; afterward that visual quality corresponds to an actual Golden Emperor form. He is sociable, quick to laugh, observant, and unabashedly ambitious. His discovery of Nuwa combines careful verification with eagerness to secure a reward, while his request to Ning shows calculated courage rather than blind greed. He is deferential around overwhelming figures but increasingly enthusiastic in battle once his new body gives him the durability he sought. (Chapters 1295 and 1298–1306)
Abilities and cultivation
Hegemon cultivation
Goodsong reaches Hegemony through his own Dao, giving him the lifespan, senses, and combat foundation needed to cross realmverses and survive near the Eight Domains. Before transformation, however, he remains an ordinary Hegemon and explicitly feels stalled below friends who became Otherverse Lords. His entire bargain with Ning arises from this cultivation ceiling. (Chapters 1295–1299)
Golden Emperor form and Ritual Sacrificium
The Golden Emperor form is a globe of mysterious golden liquid incorporated through the Ritual Sacrificium. It remakes Goodsong into a Golden Emperor, increasing his power to roughly the Otherverse Lord tier and giving him a body that is extremely difficult to kill. The gain is external rather than a new Dao breakthrough: he remains called Hegemon Goodsong, and the transformation does not grant the superior insight or authority of an actual Autarch. (Chapters 1299–1301)
Golden-body combat and limitations
In battle Goodsong can transform into a streak of golden light, use the Golden Emperor body's power to tear apart hostile manifestations, and rely on its durability in environments where an ordinary Hegemon would be at greater risk. A Sourcewalker's regenerating tentacle can still tie him down repeatedly, establishing that enhanced toughness does not guarantee escape, superior speed, or victory against every Otherverse Lord-tier opponent. (Chapter 1306)
Navigation and regional knowledge
Goodsong understands the realmverse routes around the Eight Domains, safe and direct approaches through the Blazesun Domain, the hierarchy of blackflame serpents, Houwu City's defenses, and the locations of imprisoned Sithe Exalts. This knowledge lets the expedition choose between tens of millions of years of detours and a dangerous five-hundred-thousand-year direct passage. It is practical expertise rather than omniscience: he admits when he knows a location without having personally visited it and relies on Flamewing or Ning for the most extreme threats. (Chapters 1301–1303)
Relationships
- Ji Ning: Goodsong finds Nuwa and receives Ning's promised favor. Ning secures his Golden Emperor form, then relies on his regional knowledge and sends him into supporting combat. (Chapters 1295–1306)
- Nuwa: Goodsong verifies her identity through Treewind's school and supplies the information that reconnects her with the Three Realms. (Chapters 1295–1297)
- Patriarch Treewind: Goodsong's prior meeting with Treewind provides the lead to Nuwa, and they later travel together in Ning's Blazesun party. (Chapters 1295 and 1302–1319)
- Hegemon Azurefiend: Azurefiend initially mocks the scale of Goodsong's request, then serves beside the transformed Goodsong in Ning's expedition. (Chapters 1299–1319)
- Flamewing: Goodsong depends on Flamewing's greater speed and near-indestructibility for the worst dangers, while his own Golden Emperor body lets him support the Chaos Primordial in battle. (Chapters 1301–1306)
Items
- Golden Emperor form: Obtained from Divine Sovereign Goldsun through Ning's favor and integrated via the Ritual Sacrificium. It permanently remakes Goodsong's body and raises his practical combat power to the Otherverse Lord tier. (Chapters 1299–1301)
- Hired realmship: Goodsong uses a hired vessel during the long effort to transmit his discovery of Nuwa; the journey still takes tens of millions of years because of the distances involved. (Chapter 1296)
