Biography

Role in the wider conflict

Rhuger emerged as one of the Atwood faction’s most promising early cultivators, the only recruit described as close to Vilari when she formed her first Dao Fragment. When beastkin recognized the body he occupied, he chose to define himself clearly: although he shared a body with their acquaintance Cervantes, he was not his predecessor, but Rhuger Blackwood, captain of the Einherjar. That assertion preserved cooperation without surrendering identity. (Chapters 667 and 743)

Rhuger later joined Vilari and Joanna in seeking resonance with the Left Imperial Palace through the Ensolus Ruins. During the Ultom expedition, he relied on his Reignender compatibility to face ancient systems and eventually observed hostile territory alone from a mountain, using the Dao of Darkness to disappear even from native creatures of the gloom. His growth combined inherited circumstances with deliberate mastery of concealment. (Chapters 936, 1248, and 1287)

Appearance and personality

Rhuger is a huge werewolf who wears a cowl. His formal bow and careful distinction between himself and Cervantes show courtesy, self-possession, and a strong concern for personal identity. (Chapter 743)

Abilities and cultivation

Rhuger follows the Dao of Darkness, allowing him to meld perfectly with dim surroundings so long as he remains still. He is also among the Atwood faction’s stronger cultivators and unusually compatible with Ultom-related infrastructure, but his grade, class, and broader combat mechanics remain unstated. Relationships

Rhuger shares a body with his predecessor Cervantes while insisting they are distinct people. He serves as captain of the Einherjar and advances through Ultom ruins alongside Vilari and Joanna. (Chapters 743 and 936)
