Role in the wider conflict

Ra’Klid, Hanuk’s third son, took command of his party after integration left his father unable to adapt. When Hanuk tried to lead old and young alike into a war of annihilation without hearing alternatives, Ra’Klid chose his people over filial obedience, challenged him, and granted him a warrior’s death. The act made Ra’Klid a leader defined by painful pragmatism rather than inherited authority. (Chapter 838)

Within the Atwood forces, Ra’Klid’s status as a Reignender of Ultom made him unusually compatible with Starfall Court infrastructure. He volunteered to test a dangerous barrier because he and Rhuger were least likely to trigger its alarms, then passed later gates beside Joanna and Janos. His inherited connection thus developed from a tribal burden into a practical advantage for the whole expedition. (Chapters 1248 and 1256)

Appearance and personality

Ra’Klid is a relatively slim demon who carries a massive blade across his back. He is respectful toward acknowledged commanders, decisive under moral pressure, and willing to take calculated risks for his group. (Chapters 838 and 1248)
