Tanya is a field operative in Marcus’s Alter squad who uses a scoped firearm and gradually comes to regard Raze as a friend.

Biography

The escort mission

Tanya watches Raze through a magnifying scope from a nearby building and, on Marcus’s order, fires a deliberately nonfatal shot that his enchanted blazer blocks. She then travels with the squad through Lethal Bite territory, voicing concern about their otherworldly weapons, false emblems, and exposure after civilians see them fight. Her caution reflects the practical danger of operating covertly in Pagna. (Chapters 456–482)

Refusing to pursue Raze

Tanya later recognizes Raze and Anna amid major fighting and waits for further orders while the squad assesses the situation. When Alter declares Raze a criminal and offers another investigation, she angrily challenges Marcus over refusing it because she considers Raze a friend. Barlan’s explanation of Raze’s nine-star threat clarifies why the mission was rejected, not why Tanya’s loyalty had changed. (Chapters 626–677, 824)

Appearance and personality

Tanya is identified as a woman wearing a hat; no fuller stable description is provided. She is alert, outspoken, anxious about operational exposure, and personally loyal enough to question command decisions. She can tolerate hard liquor unusually well.

Tanya demonstrates skilled use of an otherworldly scoped firearm, including controlled placement of a nonfatal shot at range.
