Redrick

Redrick is a senior teacher at Wilton Magic Academy, a former guild combatant, and one of the instructors responsible for the unusual transfer group led by Raze Cromwell. Less formal than his colleagues, he combines skeptical humor with practical concern for students. The crises around Underfang and Central Academy turn his teaching role into active defense and opposition to Ibarin's regime.

Biography

Testing Wilton's unusual transfers

Redrick first evaluates the transfers with Wilton Junior, Panla, and Professor Luka. He quickly recognizes that several perfect written answers were copied, but is more curious than punitive because cheating under Luka's observation itself demonstrates unusual skill. Redrick worries that placing all five directly into the top class will make existing students target them, then accepts Wilton's argument that their presence may break the academy's complacency. As an instructor, Redrick oversees weapon selection and practical assessments while treating results as evidence rather than a simple win-loss ranking. He forbids students from trading selected equipment, tells them to learn the weapons that accepted them, and reminds competitors that a loss does not automatically prevent exchange selection. Protecting students beyond the classroom

During Wilton's Underfang expedition, Redrick helps lead students through a dimensional environment that becomes far more dangerous than expected. When masked Dark Guild mages surround the group, he and the other teachers form a wall in front of the students. Redrick attacks with a large fireball after Panla is wounded, but coordinated water magic counters it and a follow-up attack badly scorches his arm. At Central Academy, Redrick helps supervise Wilton's delegation and responds when competitors are attacked or manipulated. By the final event, he states openly that Ibarin likely killed Wilton and that Raze's challenge will be a fight to the death. Redrick's last direct appearance is in the Wilton preparation room before the duel.
