Rane

Rane is the owner and original head chef of the restaurant that becomes Perfect Noodles after Zon joins its kitchen. Although he is an ordinary cook in a city of Pagna warriors, he protects his workers, imposes firm rules on his unusually powerful staff, and urges them to use their strength for civilians rather than merely keeping his business safe.

Biography

From struggling cook to Boss Rane

Rane first confronts a customer who disparages his noodles, revealing both pride in his cooking and awareness that the meal is not especially good. Hiring Zon changes the restaurant's fortunes: Rane recognizes the exceptional quality of Zon's noodles, lets the new chef reshape the kitchen, and becomes the managerial “Boss Rane” of the renamed Perfect Noodles while Zon trains warriors as cooks. Protecting the restaurant and the city

When Kelp's Alter team turns an investigation into violence, Rane clears workers and patrons from danger, cleans the bloodied restaurant, and leaves the fighting to Zon and Skyler. He nevertheless keeps authority inside the shop: he and Zon prohibit damage, and Rane assigns Skyler dishwashing after a destructive confrontation. During the academy crisis, Rane presses Zon to help endangered civilians and directs Skyler to organize aid, showing that his concern extends beyond the restaurant's walls. Appearance and personality

Rane wears his hair tied in a long knot beneath netting appropriate to kitchen work. He is a large man with heavy forearms that can rest across his belly, but the corpus never presents that build as cultivation. Blunt, proud, and quick to defend his food, he is also practical enough to recognize Zon's superior cooking and humane enough to send powerful employees toward people who need them. Magic, cultivation, and abilities

No Qi cultivation, magic, or supernatural technique is demonstrated for Rane. His established skills are cooking, restaurant management, personnel judgment, and maintaining discipline among employees vastly stronger than he is. His authority over Zon and Skyler is social and occupational, not evidence that he can compel them through force. (Chapters 819–821, 827–829, and 853)

Relationships

• Zon: Rane hires Zon and recognizes that his noodles can transform the business. He gives Zon broad kitchen authority while still sharing the restaurant's no-destruction rule and challenging him to help the city.
• Skyler: Rane employs and disciplines Skyler, assigning him dishwashing after a mess. The punishment also becomes useful Qi-control practice, although that benefit comes from Skyler's own training.
• Kelp: Rane treats Kelp's wounded team as a danger to isolate, evacuating others and cleaning up after Zon defeats them.

Items

Rane uses ordinary restaurant equipment, including cookware and cleaning supplies. No named or supernatural personal item is established, and neither the restaurant's defensive force nor Zon's cooking ability originates from equipment owned by Rane. (Chapters 819–829)
