Ponzo
Ponzo is a stocky Central Academy student and one of Kayzel's two close companions. He follows the Wilton team during the academy exchange, is present for the attack on Piba and Moze, and reacts with repeated disbelief when Wilton's results overturn Central's expectations.
Biography
Central Academy intimidation
Ponzo enters the exchange as part of Kayzel's elite social circle, following Wilton students after their unexpected success. After seeing Piba use moon magic, he immediately shifts toward preparing a future counter rather than acknowledging the upset. He then joins Kayzel, Rupert, and Bones in cornering Piba and Moze inside a sealed restroom. The chapter identifies him among the four aggressors, but does not assign him a specific spell or strike; his established choice is participation in the ambush. (Chapters 1393–1398)
Denial of Wilton's results
When Wilton finishes a dimension challenge improbably early, Ponzo laughs at its apparent failure and then insists the displayed result must be fake. Rupert's analysis and the absence of evidence leave Central unable to overturn it. Later, Piba's public performance proves that the damage intended to ruin his casting has been healed, and Ponzo rises in frustration because the result makes no sense to him. He remains alive at Central, with no later reckoning or change of allegiance shown. (Chapters 1409 and 1421)
Appearance and personality
Ponzo is shorter and stockier than Rupert, with sharp, glaring eyes that seem constantly to evaluate other people. He is derisive, suspicious of achievements that threaten Central's status, and comfortable following Kayzel into prohibited violence. Unlike Rupert, he is not shown calmly revising his judgment when evidence changes; his most consistent response is frustrated disbelief. (Chapters 1393, 1409, and 1421)
Magic, cultivation, and abilities
Ponzo is counted among Central Academy's strongest students, which establishes general magical competence but not a particular affinity, star rank, or technique. Although he is present during the restroom assault, the narrated spells belong to Kayzel, Rupert, and Bones or are described collectively. Assigning the silence effect, barriers, or elemental attacks to Ponzo would therefore exceed the evidence. (Chapters 1393–1398)
Relationships
- Kayzel: Ponzo is one of Kayzel's close companions and follows his campaign to punish Wilton for embarrassing Central.
- Rupert: Rupert is the other regular companion in their trio and supplies more measured analysis when Ponzo insists Wilton's dimension result is impossible.
- Piba and Moze: Ponzo participates in trapping and attacking the two Wilton students, though no individual blow is assigned to him.
Items
Ponzo wears Central Academy student attire, but the corpus establishes no named personal wand, weapon, or artifact. Collective preparations around the restroom cannot be placed in his inventory without a direct custody statement. (Chapters 1393–1398)
