Polter
Polter is one of the Behemoth Clan's Pillars, a powerful middle-stage warrior who attacks the Crimson Crane during the clan's invasion. His accumulating curved-sword offense nearly defeats Alba, but Tilon kills him using energy stored and returned by the Legendary Cursed Shield.
Biography
Assault on the Crimson Crane
Polter enters the battle as one of the two Pillars trusted to carry Sha Mo's assault against elite opponents. Tall but more slender than the other Behemoth giants, he mocks the Crimson Crane as merely strong among Wanderers and drives Alba and Tilon into a shared defense. He initially withholds his clan's formal skill, then spins his full body through a blow that shatters Tilon's ordinary shield and removes Alba's protection. (Chapters 587–591)
Death against the cursed shield
Polter turns Alba's defense into a liability by rebounding his curved sword from every block, building momentum until her arms fail. Tilon returns with the Legendary Cursed Shield, whose successive blocks increase its bearer and store the force of Polter's attacks. Polter notices the change too late. Tilon releases the stored power through the shield's cutting edge, slices through Polter's sword and neck, and Rayna confirms the Pillar's death. The victory depends on the shield's effect rather than Tilon independently surpassing him. (Chapters 598–601)
Appearance and personality
Polter is as tall as Yanin or Sha Mo but markedly slimmer, and he fights with a large curved sword. He is confident enough to taunt Alba and delay using his formal technique, then becomes irritated and fearful when Tilon's new shield refuses to yield. His pride prevents him from accepting Rayna's explanation of the item until its reflected power is already threatening him. (Chapters 589–600)
Magic, cultivation, and abilities
Polter is explicitly a strong middle-stage warrior. Broad swings release large streams of Qi, and a full-body spinning technique concentrates enough force to break Tilon's shield and hurl him away. Against Alba, repeated blade contact rebounds his weapon into the next swing, accumulating speed and momentum. The precise formal name of this Behemoth skill is not supplied. (Chapters 587–591 and 598–599)
His offense can overpower Alba and Tilon under ordinary conditions, but its repeated impacts feed the Legendary Cursed Shield. Once the item begins reflecting force and empowering its bearer, continuing to strike strengthens the countermeasure. Polter has no demonstrated answer to the released cutting edge, which passes through his weapon and decapitates him. (Chapters 599–601)
Relationships
- Alba: Polter treats Alba as proof that the Crimson Crane's reputation is inflated. His accelerating pressure exhausts her and would likely have finished the fight without Tilon's return.
- Tilon: Polter breaks Tilon's original shield and dismisses his replacement. Tilon uses the cursed shield's stored energy to kill him.
- Sha Mo: Polter serves as a Pillar under Sha Mo and is deployed as one of the clan's strongest middle-stage attackers.
Items
- Curved sword: Polter channels Qi through a large curved blade and builds momentum through repeated collisions. The Legendary Cursed Shield's charged edge cuts through it during his death. (Chapters 589–600)
- Legendary Cursed Shield: This is Tilon's weapon, not Polter's. It absorbs the value of Polter's sustained attacks, reflects force, and releases stored energy through a sharpened thrown edge that kills him. (Chapters 599–601)
